Brussels Livestock report
Dominionpicks up limousin heifers for $97.75
The sales at Brussels Livestock
for the week ending March 13
were: fed cattle, 522; cows, 217;
veal and bob calves, 342; lambs
and goats, 174; and stockers, 1,194.
Fed steers and heifers were
selling on a strong active trade.
Cows sold $1 to $2 higher. Veal
sold $2 lower while lambs sold on
a steady trade. All classes of
stockers sold steady.
There were 259 steers on offer
selling from $90 to $94 to the high
of $104. Forty-one steers consigned
by Cunningham Farms, Lucan,
averaging 1,432 lbs. sold for an
average of $92.74 with a black
steer weighing 1,310 lbs. selling for
$102.50 to Dominion Meat
Packers. Twenty-seven steers
consigned by Kada Farms,
Bluevale, averaging 1,369 lbs. sold
for an average of $94.17 with sales
to $101. Five steers consigned by
Charles Ready, St. Marys,
averaging 1,315 lbs. sold for an
average of $99.07 with sales to
$100.

finishes with a lively presentation
on the new Canadapt project
"Explore Ontario's West Coast",
the marketing initiative that is
developing the Huron Harvest Trail

On Thursday, March 12, Brett
Bean opened the 4-H Healthy
Eating Club with the pledge.
M. J. ,Horbanuik gave the
secretary's report. Eight members
answered the roll call and met a
new member, Andrew House.
They discussed munchable
lunchables and after separating into
two groups, made pizza loaf and
bird seed bars. They were very
grateful for the discount from the
"Buy The Pound" bulk food store
in Blyth.
They played a mixer game while
the food cooked. Everyone enjoyed
the snacks.
Members decided to name the
club "The Apple-licious Appetites.",
They will meet next Thursday at
4 p.m. at their leaders' home, Helen
and Christine Lapp.
