The Health Card Validation Project assists doctors, who are registered with the program, to confirm that the patient has a valid OHIP number and they will receive health services. In order to assist health care providers, individuals should always carry their health card with them. Should the health card become misplaced or stolen, it should be reported immediately to the closest Ministry of Health Office, and a new one obtained as soon as possible.
