WANTED
GRAVEL TENDERS
TOWNSHIP OF MORRIS
Sealed and clearly marked tenders are now
being received for the purpose of supplying,
crushing, loading, hauling and spreading of
approximately 23,000 Metric Tonnes of 5/8" Granular "A" Gravel:
for the roads In the North Half of the Township of Morris.
The contractor is to supply, set up and maintain weigh scales at
the site. Loader scales will be accepted. Work Is to be done
between May 1 and May 14, 1998, or June 1 to June 19, 1998, to
the satisfaction of the Township Road Superintendent.
The contractor is to be responsible for any rules and regulations,
which may be applicable under the Pits and Quarries Act.
Contractbr must supply approximately 2,000 Metric Tonnes per
day. Crushed Gravel will be sampled and tested and must meet
Township specifications.
Apply to the undersigned for contract forms.
Tenders must be received at the Clerk's Office by 4:00 P.M.
March 3, 1998 and be accompanied by a certified cheque for 10%
of the enclosed bid.
Lowest or any tender, not necessarily accepted. All tenders are
subject to MTO approval.

McKillop sends
inspector
to seminar
With the uncertainty of on-site
sewage and plumbing inspection
responsibility a common topic at
local municipal councils, McKillop
Twp. council, at the Feb. 3 meet-
ing, authorized Chief Building
Official Paul Josling to attend a
five-day training course.
Councillor William Siemon and
Clerk-Treasurer Marion McClure
will represent McKillop's concerns
at a review of plumbing and on-site
services at an upcoming county
meeting.
A bylaw was passed to proceed
with the construction of the Dennis
Municipal Drain, with tenders due
March 3.
Council had no objections to the
clean out of Beauchamp Drain in
Grey Twp.
Carl Gower was hired for a three-
year grass cutting contract at a cost
of $10,700 per year.
The budget for the Seaforth fire
area board was approved at
$112,780.

Tuckersmith
On Thursday, Feb. 12/98 at
approx. 4:05 p.m. on Huron Road
12 at Tile Road (Tuckersmith Twp.
Conc. 4/5), a 1991 International
school bus driven by Alexander
Townsend, 58, of Tuckersmith
Twp., collided with a 1987 Dodge
Caravan driven by Claude J.
Reaume, 38 of RR 1, Bayfield.
Reaume and passenger Tom
Burke, 32, of RR 2, Zurich were
both taken to Seaforth Hospital by
ambulance with minor injuries.
Both drivers were charged.

GORDON LESLIE RINTOUL
- - Mr. Gordon Leslie Rintoul of
Lucknow, formerly of
Whitechurch, passed away at
Wingham and District Hospital,
Wingham on Friday, Feb. 13, 1998.
He was 84. Mr. Rintoul was the
loving husband of the late Doreen
Purdon who predeceased him in
1990. He was the beloved father of
Gayle and Brad Speiran of RR 3„
Brussels, Leroy and Lila Rintoul of
RR 2, Lucknow, and Brian Rintoul
and Trudy Thomson of RR 3,
Wingham. He is also survived by
his daughter-in-law Barbara
Rintoul of RR, 2,Lucknow, his
sister Euphemia Cameron of
Lucknow, seven grandchildren and
five great-grandchildren. Mr.
Rintoul was predeceased his son
Gary (1984), grandson Kevin
(1994), sisters Margaret, Luella and
Freda and brothers Jack and
William.
Visitation was at McBurney
Funeral Home, Wingham on
Sunday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m.
Funeral services were held at the
McBurney Funeral Home on
Monday at 1:30 p.m. Reverend
John Neilson officiating.
Interment will be in Wingham
Cemetery, Tumberry Twp.
Memorial donations to the
Canadian Cancer Society or the
Heart and Stroke Foundation of
Ontario would be appreciated as
expressions of sympathy.
PERCY F. DALTON
Percy F. Dalton passed away at
London Health Sciences Centre on
Wednesday, Feb. 11, 1998.
Formerly of McKillop Twp., now
of Seaforth, Mr. Dalton was 69.
He was the beloved husband of
the former Mavis McClure. He was
the dear father of Don Dalton and
his wife Pat of RR 4, Walton, Ken
Dalton and his wife Brenda of RR
1, Walton and Faye and her
husband Mike Devereaux of
Seaforth. He was also dearly loved
by his mother, Janet Dalton of
Seaforth and will be fondly
remembered by nine grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sister,
Doris and her husband Dave Muir
of Seaforth, and brothers, Bob
Dalton and his wife Dorothy of RR
1, Londesboro, Murray Dalton and
friend Janet of Seaforth, and Doug
Dalton of Goderich.
Mr. Dalton was predeceased by
his father, Carl Dalton.
Family received friends at the
Whitney-Ribey Funeral Home,
Seaforth on Friday, Feb. 13.
Funeral service was held at
Northside United Church, Seaforth
on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 2 p.m. Elly
Van Bergen officiated.
Interment will be at
Maitlandbank Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bill McClure,
Kelly Dalton, Roy Dalton, Patrick
Devereaux, Geoff Dalton and
Darrell Dalton.
Flower bearers were Carla
Dalton, Christine Devereaux,
Alicia Dalton and Gerrid Dalton.
