Nurse
speaks
at UCW
The general meeting of the
Brussels UCW was held on Feb. 4
in the basement of the church.
Audrey Cardiff welcomed
everyone.
Allyson Cardiff opened the
program with the poem "Recipe for
a Wonderful Day". The Hymn 0
God of Love was sung.
Joan Bernard introduced the
guest speaker, Karen Smith, who
works for the Community Nursing
service and is now a supervisor.
She gave the history of the service
and what services are available.
There are 31 nurses in the group
and they make about 26,000 visits a
year.
Care Partners is a sister agency
of Community Nursing. There are
teams of three people in each area.
The case manager decides how
many times the client needs to be
visited.
The scripture was read by
Allyson Cardiff followed by prayer
by Mrs. Bernard. The hymn 0
Perfect Love was sung. Lunch was
served by Mrs. Bernard and Jean
Davidson.
The minutes were read and
treasurer's report given.
The UCW decided not to have a
luncheon in March but would cater
to a dinner for the lodge in April.
World Day of Prayer is March 6
in the Anglican Church.
The June Garden Party will be
held on June 14 at the Brussels
Arena.
The UCW Benediction closed the
meeting.
