Calvin Brick holds annual meeting
Stuart and Lois Chamncy
welcomed worshippers and handed
out the service of worship at Knox
United Church on Sunday, Feb. 1
for the fourth Sunday after
Epiphany.
Mr. Whitmore welcomed every-
one. This was followed by
songtime, Pass It On and Be Still
and Know. The Call to Worship
was read responsively, prayer of
approach was said in unison as was
— the prayer of confession and the
words of assurance.
The senior choir sang Take It to
the Lord in Prayer accompanied by
Elizabeth Procter at the piano.
The Old Testament reading was
from 1 Corinthians 12: 1-11, 30-31,
while the Gospel lesson was from
Matthew 25: 14-30.
The congregation sang The Wise
May Bring Their Learning and All
The Way My Saviour Leads Me.
The children gathered in the front
pew for story time. It was based on
baseball. You need all the player's
talents together to make up a team
with each player playing a different
position. The best pitcher gets to
pitch if it's an important game with
a second pitcher justbeing a spare.
The children adjourned to
Sunday School. Kim Higgins and
Jennifer Cook were in charge of
nursery.
The Psalm selection was read
responsively.
The sermon centred around "You
Can Make a Difference".
