Hagedoorn, 887-6935 and M.Saxon, 887-9287 Ladies Aid gathers The yearly Ladies Aid meeting of Knox Church, Cranbrook, took place at the home of Mrs. Joe Smith on Jan. 13. The meeting was opened by the president, Mrs. Stuart Stevenson, reading a poem "A Peaceful Land". Hymn 575 Standing At The Portal was sung. Mrs. Murray Crawford gave the topic "Living As Christians in a Violent Society" which was taken from the Glad Tidings. The Lord created the world and saw that it was good. Man was given the right to choose what he would do with his life. Some choices have not been peaceful. There is crime, abuse, unemployment, drugs and stress in modern day society. Many bad things are happening to good people. Everyone has to accept responsibility for being part of the problem. "Let us reflect sincerely on a solution," she said. Scripture was read from Isaiah 2: 4 Matthew 26:52 and Romans 12: 14, 17, 19. Devotions were closed with prayer offered by Mrs. Crawford. Mrs. Stevenson then asked for Mrs. Leslie Knight to read the minutes of the last meeting followed by roll call. Mrs. John Vanass offered the treasurer's report. All the various committees were reviewed and agreed upon. The meeting closed with the Mizpah benediction. Aux. elects officers Continued from page 2 -office or call Ann Brabender at 887-9267.
