Speaking to the annual meeting of Huron County Pork Producers in Varna, on Thursday, McEwen said the study included zoning bylaws from 177 townships from Windsor to Barrie, looking at restrictions on three types of barns: a 1,000-head feeder barn, a 100-head farrow-to- finish operation and a 600-sow far- row-to-wean barn. The study found there was little difference in the restrictiveness between the three types of'bams. There were differences according to the location of neighbouring houses. Fed steers and heifers are selling $2 higher. Cows sold $1 to $2 higher. Veal sold $2 to $3 lower with lambs trading on a lower market. All classes of stockers sold steady.
