Atom Rep squad takes on Clinton Despite a delay in the start of the game against Bayfield Saturday due to the late arrival of officials, the Brussels Tykes were ready to win when they hit the ice. Matt Huether and Ty Sebastian worked well together on their line, taking several shots which the Bay- field goalie smothered. Huether slid one by at 5:10 of the first after Brussels won the face-off in the opponent’s end. A lot of digging along the boards resulted in good opportunities by Daniel Elliott, Jordan Roberts and Morgan Deitner in the early going. In the dying minutes of the first, the combination of Ray Huether and Brendan Stretton struck for two. At 1:06, Stretton carried the puck from the blueline and shot it across the crease giving Huether the chance to poke it in. Stretton scored Brussels’ third at the 23-second mark. M. Huether got the scoring going in the second frame when his wrap around shot slid in past the post at 10:15. Stretton added his second at 8:08 when he got the puck from a face-off. In the third, Stretton took the puck from the blueline to take the score to 6-0. Another Stretton shot was stopped on a beautiful kick save by the Bayfield netminder. The Huether boys had a quick succession of goals during the mid- third. Ray tallied two and Matt, one. R. Huether deked the goalie Sting takes Auburn 6-2 It was week four for the Blyth and area men’s hockey league. On his second of the period, he slid it between the pads. M. Huether pulled off another wrap-around at 7:53. Randy Zwep and Nic Gowing tried to add to the total late in the match, but were thwarted. Danny Donkers helped stop breaks and Roberts played the blue line well, keeping the puck in the Bayfield end, prolonging the attack. £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ JOHN McKERCHER CONSTRUCTION LTD. • Backhoeing • Bulldozing • Loader & Truck Rental • Sand • Gravel • Drainage Stone • Topsoil • Screened Topsoil • 1" Terra Stone • White Marble • Bark Mulch • Licensed Septic Installations 887-9061 FAX 887-9999 The team showed off some very nice passing plays.
