Rec board won’t pay for stolen bin
The BMG Recreation board
instructed Secretary-Treasurer
Shelly Pryce to not pay the invoice
totalling $155.35 from Sparling’s
Propane for a four-cylinder storage
bin that they had delivered to the
arena.
Arena manager Murray McArter
did not authorize the drop off and
the bin was stolen from outside the
arena.
Deb Seili a representative from
the Brussels Figure Skating Club
entered the meeting. She proposed
the idea of making some changes to
the sound room in the arena in
order to make the room more
feasible to communicate from the
ice level to the sound room and
also to allow for a better view of
the entire ice surface. She

The Highlanders Minor Atoms
had a busy schedule with games
and tournaments.
The squad took on Windsor,
Nov. 6 and 7, defeating them 6-2 in
the first game.
Goals were scored by Jim
Hutchinson (two), Jordan Wright,
Conor Gill, Chris Corbett and Rhys
Thomas.
Assists went to Corbett (two),
Jeff Colton (two), Mike Longpre,
wondered if a sliding window
could be used to replace the
window that has a crack in it and if
somehow the bricks between the
two windows could be taken out.
The Brussels Figure Skating
Club and the Optimist Club would
be willing to contribute financially
to the project, she said. Also she
noted a new sound system is
needed for the arena. The figure
skating club is replacing the CD
player.
The board explained that an
engineer would need to be
consulted for the changes to the
sound room and that they would
consider the improvements in their
2000 budget.

cater an event, a $100 fee will be
charged to the lessee for the use of
the hall and $1 per plate will be
charged to the caterer.

Nov. 13, the Highlanders had to
settle for a tie.
Adam Corbett and Longpre

They returned to their winning
ways on Sunday against Niagara
Falls.
Widmeyer, A. Corbett and
Colton netted the puck in the 3-1
victory. Assists were earned by A.
Corbett, Bester and C. Corbett.
