W. Wawanosh discusses lots Huron County planner Brian Tre ble attended the Nov. 2 meeting of West Wawanosh council to discuss options for lots owned by the town ship in Dungannon. Among the issues addressed were zoning and re-zoning, lot sizes and septic system approvals. Minimum setback requirements for livestock buildings in AGl zone per town ship in Huron County were also viewed. The road accounts totalling $10,270.38 and the general accounts totalling $12,743.62 were approved for payment. Council concurred with the Town of Seaforth regarding a request for a new system so that the currently employed paramedics would con tinue to be employed regardless of how the service is delivered, including legislated and contractual successor rights.c [The nows from ranbrook •Wif) ■ WFVf Families visit There were eight tables played at the euchre last Friday in Cranbrook Community Hall. Scripture readings were from Joel 3: 9-11 and Matthew 10: 34- 39. Hullett students place 5th in cross country meet Hullett Central was host for the cross country meet for eight of Huron County’s elementary schools. Hullett placed fifth in the overall standings. Congratulations to Andrea Sturzenegger who placed second in Midget girls and to Laurie Vandendool who was second in intermediate girls. Although IPM 1999 has now faded into memory kudos go to Katie McClinchey. Her futuristic pictjre of farm life in Huron County won top honours in her age division. Katie is the daughter of Doug and Karen McClinchey and is presently in Grade 4. Steven Dougherty and Amanda Rozendal of Hullett Central School travelled to Wingham with their mothers and school principal, George Barker. Their mission was to help Brian Allan, as co-hosts, for his phone-in talk show on AM920 radio. The topic was space travel with special guest Chris Hadfield, first Canadian astronaut to operate the Canada Arm in space and his help in building the M.I.R. space station. He is looking forward in the fall of 2(XX) when he will become the first Canadian astronaut to space walk as he helps install the Brampton built Canada Arm to the international orbiting space station currently under construction. Col. Hadfield was on a phone line from Houston, TX answering questions from Steven, Amanda and the many who called in. For the two students from Hullett Central school, learning about broadcasting was almost as exciting as the space talk. Thanks to Mr. Barker for taking the time to help Steven and Amanda to have what could be a once in a lifetime opportunity. On Wednesday, Nov. 17 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Hullett Central Public School will be holding its first annual craft show and sale. It was decided to put on a craft show to help with fundraising for the school. The money from the table rentals will go back into the school. There are approximately 29 vendors setting up with a wide range of unique and interesting items for sale including baking, sewing, knitting, ceramics, candles, educational books, clothing, makeup. Barbie accessories, cookware, maple syrup products, some local organizations selling for their fundraisers and a lot of other products to choose from. Admission will be a donation to the food bank and everyone can put in their name for “Mystery Door Prizes”. There will also be refreshments served by the Grade 8s to help defray the cost of their trip. There is already a great response to this event and everyone is very excited about it. It is a win, win situation for the school, vendors and the shoppers who can support their local participants and get great Christmas presents all under one roof. We look forward to seeing you there.
