Church members mark
Remembrance Day
Churchgoers at Londesboro
United Church this past Sunday
were greeted by Roy and Marie
Krauter. Before the service they
enjoyed coffee and muffins
prepared by Helen Lyons. Bert and
Joanne Lyon were the ushers.
Under the direction of Barb
Bosman the primary choir sang We
Were Made to Love the Lord and
Say to the Lord 1 Love You. The
junior choir selections were Jesus
Came Into My Heart to Stay and A
Bundawonderful Life in Jesus.

Sympathy of the community is
extended to Frank and Dorothy
Johnston on the passing of
Dorothy’s brother-in-law Willex
King. Mr. King was road
superintendent of Kincardine Twp.
until his illness.
and Women’s Auxiliary
worshipped with the congregation
and were piped in by Rick Elliott.
Presenting flags were Gord
Jenkins, Vai Pethick, Sam
Dougherty and Bernice Pierce.
Two minute silence was observed
in remembrance of those who
served their country.
Rev. Ross brought a number of
toy army vehicles to the children’s
time tor emphasize the difference
between play and real war when
lives are lost.

began in 1899 was the basis for
Rev. Ross’s sermon “The Forgotten
War”. It is also called the Boer War
or the Teatime War.
