Man receives injuries in fall On Oct. 25 at approximately 2:30 p.m. police were dispatched to the Wescast construction site on County Rd. 86 east of Wingham in Morris Twp. Two men had been working on bending 2 inch conduit pipe when the equipment they were working on let go and the one electrical journeyman fell backwards striking the ground. The man didn’t feel very well and the local ambulance service was called and he was taken to the Wingham and District Hospital for treatment. Kevin Walchuk, 44, of Brantford was found to have a serious ankle injury and was transferred to University Hospital in London for surgery. The Ministry of Labour has been called in to investigate the incident. At Braemar Retirement Centre, Tumberry Twp. on Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999, Mr. Clarence Yuill of Belgrave passed away. He was 83. He was the beloved husband of the late Alba (Stokes) who predeceased him in 1982 and the late Mildred (Stokes) Elliott, who passed away earlier this year. He was the dear father of Ross and Beth Yuill of Ayton and Cameron and Alice Yuill of Belgrave and stepfather of Gordon and Louise Elliott, Bruce and Lenore Elliott, Linda and John Lichtenberger and Betty and Phillip Feeley. He is also survived by his sisters Laura Johnston of Belgrave and Mary Warwick of Blyth and 15 grandchildren. Mr. Yuill was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Mabel (Procter) Yuill, his sisters Myrtle Rezansoff and Helen McBurney and his brother Robert Yuill. Visitation was at the McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham on Sunday from 3:30 - 5:30 and 7 - 9 p.m. The funeral service was held at the funeral home on Monday at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. John G. Roberts officiating. Interment was in Brandon Cemetery, East Wawanosh Twp. Memorial donations to Knox United Church, the Cancer Society, the Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. GORDON MURRAY On Wednesday, Oct. 27, 1999, at Seaforth Community Hospital, Gordon Murray of Seaforth passed away. He was in his 91st year. He was the beloved husband of Laura (Leiper) Murray and dear father of Susan Grant of Brussels. He is also survived by two sisters, Dorothy Nott and her husband Earle of RR4, Clinton and Margaret Haase and her husband Glenn of Sault Ste. Marie, several nieces and nephews and three sisters-in-law, Anne Murray, of Woodstock, Della Murray of Brussels and Marian Murray of Toronto. He was predeceased by his parents, Alex and Catherine (McClay) Murray, two sisters, Grace Kirkby and Norma Larmour and five brothers, Don, Bill, Charlie, Dave and Ken. There was no funeral home visitation. A private funeral service was held at the Whitney-Ribey Funeral Home, Seaforth, on Friday, Oct. 29 at 2 p.m. Rev. Judith Springett officiated. The pallbearers were Lou Maloney, Jack Muir, Charlie Perkins, Ron Bennett, Murray Dennis and Steve Dennis. Interment was in Harpurhey Cemetery.
