B elgra veThe news from Compiled by Linda Campbell Phone 357-2188 Guides host spooky party Eerie laughter and cheery decorations greeted witches, ghosts and goblins as they attended the annual Halloween party sponsored by the Belgrave Guiding Units Thursday evening at the East Wawanosh Public School. Judges were challenged as they surveyed over 100 children in Halloween costume. The final decision - everyone was a winner. Special thanks to Judges Dorothy Mabel’s Moms talk of toys Mabel’s Moms met at their regular time on Wednesday, Oct. 27. Those who attended were: Karen Rundle, Holly and Emily; Donna Raynard and Craig; Lila Procter and Jessica; Kim Higgins, Ashley and Shelby; Jarrod Logan; Alice Coultes, Nancy Daer and Dianna Robinson and to the school for its use. A spooktacular time was had by all. The Belgrave Sparks, Brownies, Guides and Pathfinders will be selling their famous Girl Guide chocolate mint cookies Thursday, Nov. 4 in the village and surrounding area. Yuiii and Breanna. Their topic was "Toys for Christmas”. Matthew Campbell spent the weekend at Grand Bend with John, Linda, Jeremy and Justin Campbell. Ron Campbell of London visited on Sunday. J. ROSS wins in euchre On Wednesday, Oct. 27 there were nine tables of euchre in play at the Women’s Institute Hall. Winners were: high lady, Jean Ross; second high lady, Jane Grasby; lone hands, Doris Michie; low lady, Alice Nicholson; high man, Jack Taylor; second high man, Stewart Musgrove; lone hands, Vera Falconer; low man, George Michie. Ther£ is euchre again on Wednesday, Nov. 3 at 8 p.m. The seniors meet each Wednesday at the Wingham Bowling lanes and try their luck at bowling. The ladies scores were: Jean Walker, 99, 131; Rita Baks, 114, 109; Elizabeth Schuler, 108, 173; Doris Remington, 165, 146; Doris Walker, 102, 136; Mae Louttit, 124, 96; Evelyn Caslick, 125, 151; Jean Leitch, 87, 142; Helen Underwood, 109, 89. Halloween fun It was a full house at Walton Hall Friday night when toddlers to teens gathered to enjoy the haunted house and participate in games.
