Middlecamp brothers perform Musical Prelude with Nancy Park as organist, welcomed all to the Anniversary Service at Knox United Church Oct. 17. Rev. Paul Ross also welcomed everyone and lit the Christ candle. The Middlecamp brothers, the visiting choir, sang God of Our Life. Their pianist was Cheryl Wilson of Fordwich. Rev. Ross led in prayer. For children’s time, a mystery balloon drawn from the bag was blown up and then disappeared into the air. Another one then was brought forth and it was a lovely Happy Anniversary balloon. Rev. Ross introduced the guest minister Rev. J. C. Beaumont of Milverton. He is the United Church minister there. Rev. Beaumont read from Isaiah 43. Here God told the Israelites that they were chosen people and He was their Saviour. They were people that were to always praise him. The guest choir sang Heavenly Sunlight. Rev. Ross read Luke 22. In this Jesus spoke to disciples of life's trials and tribulations and said that He had prayed for them and trusted in their faith. Rev. Beaumont’s message was “May I have a Vision please?” He spoke on how churches are changing, so many church doors have closed, the number of people belonging to churches is much lower. One good thing though, he said, is that the churches in India, Asia, etc. are growing in size and in number. Beaumont spoke on words from numerous authors, some predicting failure and the others improvement. “We need a vision to know the future,” he said. All that we can do is follow His word and pray.” Mrs. Bud Chamney came to the front and dedicated the memorial mirrors. These mirrors were made and given to Donnybrook church by the Chamney family. Since its closure they are rededicating them to Knox United Church. During the collection Cheryl Wilson and Nancy park played a lovely duet. Lunch was served by the UCW after the service. During the service a special wish and prayer was given for the sod breaking ceremony beiijg held that dav for the Huron Chapel Missionary Church. Oct. 24 is Londesboro United Church’s anniversary. The crown attorney argued that LeBeau was the driver of the vehi cle when it failed to negotiate a curve, leaving the road at 150 kilo metres per hour, with six young people inside.
