JOHN STEWART
SANDERSON
John Stewart Sanderson passed
away suddenly with his wife and
family by his side at Clinton Public
Hospital on Saturday. Sept. 4. 1999
in his 78th year.
Born in Morris Twp. on April 8,
1922. John was the son of the late
George and Ellen (McCallum)
Sanderson.
After returning from the armed
services in 1945 John farmed in
Hulleft Twp. until his death.
He was an active member of the
Blyth United Church where he had
served as an elder for many years.
John was the beloved husband of
Viola (Dexter) Sanderson for 56
years and the loving father of
Sylvia and Robert Trick of
Londesborough and Elmer and
Maria Sanderson of Blyth. He was
the dear grandfather of Karen
Trick, and Jonathan, Anthony, and
Stephanie Sanderson. He is also
survived by many nieces, nephews
and other family members.
Mr. Sanderson was predeceased
by his parents George and Ellen
(McCallum) Sanderson and by his
brother Wilfred.
Visitation was held at the
Beattie-Falconer Funeral Home,
Tasker Chapel, Blyth on Sunday,
Sept. 5. The funeral service was
held at Blyth United Church on
Monday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ernest
Dow and Rev. Cecil Wittich
officiating.
During the service his
granddaughter Karen read a poem,
For Those I Love, For Those Who
Love Me and Sharon Wittich sang
The Qld Rugged Cross. Barb
Bosman presided at the organ.
Flowerbearers were his
grandchildren Karen, Jonathan,
Anthony and Stephanie. Pallbearers
were his nephews Daryl Murker,
Daryk and Daryl Ball, Stewart
Giousher, Clayton and Bryan
McClure.
Interment was in Blyth Union
Cemetery.

card parties on Feb. 17 with one
being in the north and one in the

April 30 of next year is the date
set for the WI church service to be
held at Melville Presbyterian
Church, Brussels.
The County Rally will be held on
Oct. 4 at the OMAFRA office in
Clinton with registration from 9 -
9:30 a.m. with a potluck lunch.
Bring your own dishes.
Registration is $2 and bring a non-
perishable food item.
The Guelph Area Convention is
being held at the BMG Community
Centre on Oct. 13 and 14.
Accommodations for overnight
guests will be required for Oct. 13.
If you have an extra bed, call Kathy
Bridge.
The Huron County Historical
meeting is on Sept. 16 at 8 p.m. in
St. Andrews United Church at
Bayfield. Their annual meeting is
to be held Oct. 29 at Brucefield
United Church beginning with a
dinner at 6 p.m.
A volunteer auxiliary meeting is
to be held at Huronlea on Sept. 20
at 10 a m. All aie welcome to
attend.
The October meeting will be held
a week earlier on Oct. 6.
BEATRICE ALETTA
McPherson
Mrs. Beatrice McPherson of
Lucknow and formerly of
Wingham. passed away at Pinecrest
Manor, Lucknow, on Friday, Sept.
IO, 1999. She was 94.
The former Beatrice Johnston,
was the beloved wife of the late
Cecil Chamney and the late
Frederick McPherson. She was the
dear mother of Anne and Sam
Thompson of Wingham and
grandmother of John and Joyce
Thompson of RR2. Lucknow,
Susan and Gordon Haggitt, Blyth,
Murray and Doreen Thompson,
RRI. Belgrave, Ellen and Ron
Huy a, Buffalo, N.Y., Julie
Thompson and her friend Brian
Arrand of London and Steven
Bromley of RRI, Belgrave. She is
also survived by nine great
grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her
parents John and Alice (Casemore)
Johnston, her granddaughter Jane
Bromley, four sisters and one
brother.
Visitation was at the McBurney
Funeral Home, Wingham on
Saturday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m.
Funeral service was at the funeral
home on Sunday at 2 p.m. Rev. J.
Rea Grant officiated.
Interment was in Wingham
Cemetery, Turnberry Twp.
Memorial donations to Wingham
United Church or Pinecrest Manor
Residents Fund would be
appreciated as expressions of
sympathy.
GEORGE ELGIN WEBSTER
Mr. George Webster of Wingham
passed away at Wingham and
District Hospital, Wingham on
Sunday, Sept. 12, 1999. He was 77.
The beloved husband of the
former Greta Humphrey, Mr.
Webster was the dear father of
Brenda and Terry Rutledge of RRI,
Auburn and Carol and Don Vincent
of Petitcodiac, NB. He was the
loved brother of Jean Henderson of
Brucefield and Lois and Stuart
Chamney of Belgrave. Mr. Webster
is also survived by his six
grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his
parents William and Edna (Taylor)
Webster.
Visitation was at McBurney
Funeral Home, Wingham on
Wednesday from 2*- 4 and 7 -
9 p.m.
Funeral service will be held at
the funeral home on Thursday at
1:30 p.m. with Rev. J. Rea Grant
officiating.
Interment will be in Greenhill
Cemetery, Ashfield Twp.
Memorial donations to Wingham
and District Hospital Foundation
would be appreciated as
expressions of sympathy.

Huron East prepares for busy year
Members of the Huron East
District Women's Institutes have a
very busy fall ahead of them.
The executive, district directors
and nominating committee met at
the home of Aledia Murray in
Clifford to discuss business at hand
and plans for future events.
Nominations are needed for an
assistant secretary, an assistant
treasurer and a second vice-
president for the coming year.
Many Women’s Institute ‘
members are involved in the
International Plowing Match as
volunteers in the Lifestyles Tent as
well as staffing the Women's
Institute display in the Antique
Tent. Many are involved in other
areas as well to ensure the success
of the Plowing Match.
The Huron County Women’s
Institute Rally will be held at
OMAFRA in Clinton on Oct. 4.
Two voting delegates from each
branch are expected to be there.
There will be a potluck meal and
the roll call is a non-perishable item

Institute 60th convention. Diamond
Jubilee will be held at the Brussels.

Educational workshops are being

are not restricted to Women’s
Institute members.
