A Note from Betty
There was lots of fun in Brussels this past weekend, ball games,
horseshoes, gatherings galore and water balloons! Lots of folks getting one
last fling out of the summer.
Weddings were being celebrated as well. It seems September and October
are giving June a real run as wedding months for the year. McCauleys and
Workmans can now relax, leaving the McArters, Machans, Harrisons and
Lowes to worry about wedding details.
The school crew are into the swing of things, settling into new teachers,
new routines and new knowledge. Long bus rides three to a seat are the only
complaints I've heard.
The Blyth show - Death of the Hired Man and the Threshers Reunion
were enjoyed by many from the village. Both events brought back memories
of rural life, reminders of days gone by. As the water girl when the threshing
machine came to our farm, they were not good old days but then maybe my
memory is going too.
It was good to see the kids back for Sunday school, bringing their smiles
and energy ready for a new year.
Congratulations Katie Harrison on being our ’99 Brussels Fair
Ambassador.
