PAGE A-19. g!999 Huron Pioneer Thresher Reunion & Hobby Show Food booths provide a bounty of delicious eats Hours of fun, observation, conversation and participation can lead to some big hungers, but food booth operators at the Huron Pioneer Thresher and Hobby Association's 38th Reunion, are sure to have a bounty of offers to satisfy any palate. There will be food booths strategically placed around the grounds to make quenching a hunger or thirst very easy. Food will be available on several locations around the park including in the arena and near the working exhibits as well as the popular bean pot situated just behind the arena ball diamond. The Huron County Museum cooks will be stirring the bean pot as well as popping some corn the old-fashioned way and pouring a little apple cider to wash it all down. The beans are started early in the morning in a large cast iron pot. They simmer over an open fire throughout the day. As portions are taken out to feed the crowds more beans are added to the brew. Voir leads service The 38th Annual Huron Pioneer Thresher and Hobby Association is hosting a non-denominational church service on Sunday, Sept. 12 for the campers, community and all interested in a music filled sermon. Don Vair, of the Westfield Fellowship Hour Church, will be the speaker at the 10 a.m. service. Several local talents will add a touch of music, song and storytelling to the service. Everyone is invited to attend. It is bound to be an uplifting service. This is typical thresher fare. On Friday evening only, the Shriner's Fish Fry will be held across Gypsy Lane at Lion’s Park, beginning at 4 p.m. For those looking for a sit-down meal, the Legion Ladies Auxiliary will be provide a hot meal in the upstairs of the auditorium. Lunch will be available Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and dinner will be served beginning at 4:30 p.m. and will run until 7 p.m. Lunch will consist of soup and a sandwich while at dinner, the meal will offer a choice of two meats and all the trimmings. There will be a good selection of desserts to choose from such as pies, cakes and cheesecakes. On Sunday, the hot meals will be supplied by the Blyth Lions.
