Jack and Marie Muir, Seaforth, three wins, 38; fourth, Lee Ryan and Carol Carter, Seaforth, two wins, 43 plus four; fifth, Helen Smith and Sandra Ronson, London, two wins, 41; sixth, Len Patterson and Ida, two wins, 39 plus two; seventh, Stuart and Helen Bryans, Mitchell, two wins, 34; eighth, Ken Barbour and Laura Johnston, Brussels, two wins 34; ninth, Jeanne McMulkin and Veronica Jackson, Southampton, two wins, 32; 10th, Louis Ebel and Jean Bewley, two wins, 3I; consolation, Gordon Bosman and Mabel Wheeler, Brussels. A team from District 4 won the All-Canada competition played in Toronto. The team consisted of Carol Carter, lead, Seaforth; Gloria McFalls, Exeter, second; JoAnne Bugler, Exeter, third and Andrea Weigand, Exeter, skip. District 4 was also represented at the Ontario playoffs. Senior Trebles at Century Gardens, Brampton. The team consisted of lead, Donna Rose, Mitchell, vice­ skip, Jean Bewley, Brussels and Skip Delphine Dewar, Atwood. No prizes but a good time was had by all. District 4 is made up of 12 clubs within an area bounded by Exeter, St. Marys, Stratford, Goderich and Lucknow. Ontario has 16 districts. PeeWee Girls play Walton and Brussels PeeWee Girls met in Walton, Aug. 24 in a contest won by the home team. Shutting down their visitors in the first, Walton took a command­ ing lead scoring nine in the bottom. Crossing the plate were Jennifer McClure, Mandy Mitchell, Michelle Cook, Sarah McDonald, Ashley Halley, Carrie Leonhardt, Krista Shortreed, Melissa Beuer- mann. Crystal Gibbons, Jessica Lubbers and Missy Souch. Brussels scored three in the third, but Halley and Leonhardt scored to increase the lead again. Though Brussels failed to score in the third, they shutdown their hosts as well, then closed the gap with a three in the fourth. Walton tallied five in the bottom half when McDonald, Halley, Leonhardt, Shortreed and Beuer- mann crossed the plate. A solid fifth for Brussels closed the gap by four, but it was too little too late as they lost this one 4-3. Stuck with a spare tire around the middle? Leave the car at home and walk. For the fifth time the Brussels Tigers captured the Huron County Mens Fastball League championship at a tournament in Brussels on the weekend. The hometown crowd couldn’t have asked for more as the title came down to a match-up between the Tigers and the neighbouring Walton Brewers, who defeated their BE ON THE LOOK OUT CODE OF CONDUCT FOR STUDENTS 1. Skates, when carried on a school bus, must have skate guards or protective material in place. 5. Keep your arms and head inside the vehicle at all times. 6. That leaves it up to you as a driver, to be extra careful around schoolyards, neigh­ bourhood play areas, and departing school buses. So remember...when you see yellow, be sure to see red - as in red alert. Let's all slow down and give our children the chance they deserve. 7. Unnecessary disturbances (opening of windows, wrestling, eating, smoking, obscene language or any other form of misbehaviour) will not be tolerated at any time. 8. Obey directions and instructions of the driver and/or bus patrol promptly. 9. Refrain from talking to the driver while the bus is in motion, except in case of an emergency. 10.
