Smaller turnout to annual McCall reunion
Sunday, Aug. 15 the annual
McCall reunion was held at the
Walton Hall. There was a smaller
attendance this year.
After Grace by Bill Young, the
smorgasbord meal was enjoyed by
all present.
A short business period was
conducted by President Marion
Young. Doreen McCall read the

“Building an Armour of God” was the theme of this year’s
Vacation Bible School at Ethel’s Cornerstone Bible
Fellowship held last week. Here, Cory George dons a
‘breastplate’. Lorna Dreaning of Mount Forest, who along
with Roy Dreaning, led the school, demonstrates
how armour protects. A total of 64 children attended.

The officers elected for next year
are: president, Marion Young, vice-
president, Lois McCall.
Joan and David Perrie offered to
arrange the setup for lunch for the
next reunion to be held at the same
place next year on the third Sunday
in August, hoping to have more of
the relatives present to enjoy the
afternoon.

Community extends sympathy
The community extends
sympathy to the family of Yvonne
Knight on the death of her brother-
in-law Allan Siemon.
Gus Duggan visited John and
Margaret Saxon. They had a
picnic in Stratford on the bank of
the river and enjoyed watching the
swans.
Ben Fretz (who is seven years
old) tells us that he and his sister
Sammy Jo and their parents (in that
order) went to visit Story Book
Park in Owen Sound. Originally he
wanted to give me “heck” for not
including this item in The Citizen.
last week, but I did remind him that
he had not told me then. Still I
appreciate that he wanted it
included this week. He is my
youngest news contributor so far.

Mr. and Mrs. Murray Crawford
attended the wedding of their
granddaughter Melanie Crawford
to Trevor Bowles. The reception
was held at the Atwood
Community Centre. Melanie is the
daughter of Mr and Mrs Glen
Crawford and Trevor is the son of
Mr and Mrs Ron Bowles.
Family and friends of Harvey and
contests and something for the
children.
Several folks told some
Marion Smith attended the
celebration of their 50th
anniversary last Saturday. It was a
very happy occasion.

d'Aoust are- moving from
Cranbrook to Kingston.

SURPLUS PROPERTY
DECLARATION
Pursuant to Section 193 of the Municipal Act, Grey Township
Council, at a regular Council meeting held on August 16th, 1999
declared the following properties as surplus:
1. Part lots 9 and 10, concession 11 more particularly
described as Part 1, Plan 22R-4167 (.326 acres)
2. Part lot 9, concession 11, more particularly described as
Part 1, Plan 22R-4403 (.25 acres)
Council will consider the proposed sale of the afore mentioned
properties at the September 7th, 1999 meeting of Council at
8:00 p.m.

Clara Perrie. Several remained for
the supper meal.

TO STOP UP AND CLOSE A ROAD ALLOWANCE AND TO
SELL PART OF A ROAD ALLOWANCE
• Notice is hereby given that pursuant to the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1990, the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Grey proposes to enact by-laws as described
below to establish a road allowance, to divert a road allowance, to stop up and close a road allowance and to sell part of a road allowance.
The proposed by-laws and descriptions of the lands affected may be viewed at the Grey Township Municipal Office at the address hereinafter noted. The Council of the
Corporation of the Township will hear, in person or by counsel or agent, any person who claims their land will be prejudicially affected by the said by-laws and who
applies to be heard at a meeting to be held at the said Municipal Office on the 7th day of September. 1999 at 8:00 p.m.
