at Blyth’s Church of God
The summer tour group.
ServantSong from Gardner College
in Camrose. AB will provide a
concert of sacred music at Biyth
Community Church of God on July
28. The concert will begin at 7 p.m.
ServantSong provides a ministry
experience for the students and
worship opportunity for the
congregation. The students
participate in the planning,
organizing and administering of the
tour, and then prepare musically to
present the concert. On tour, they
are witnesses for Christ and
ambassadors for Gardner College.
In their concert, they will,
through music, lead the
congregation in worship. As they
share their testimonies, they will
focus on how God has been at work
in and through their lives. They
will also be glad to answer
questions about the various
programs offered through Gardner
College.
This year’s musical package, “A
Led life" is directed by Julian
Wigg, instructor in Music and
recruitment and officer at Gardner
College. Wigg has selected the
music and trained the choir for this
musical ministry.
Gardner College is the only
Church of God college in Canada.
Gardner provides instruction in
theology, Christian education,
music, child youth care work and
early childhood education. Students
at Gardner may earn a Bachelor of
Theology, a Bachelor of Sacred
Music, or a Bachelor of Religious
Education Degree.
Additionally, students not
seeking a baccalaureate degree,
may complete two year associate
diploma or one year certificate
programs.
The community is cordially
invited to join with ServantSong
July 28 for this concert of Christian
music. There is no cost for the
concert, but a free-will offering will
be received to help defray their
travel costs.
Delayed service
Though bad weather resulted in the cancellation of the annual Decoration Day at Brussels
Cemetery in June, it was fair skies on Sunday for the rescheduled service, led by Rev.
Nancy Beale of St. John’s Anglican Church.

140 children learn
at 1999 Bible school
Come one, come all to Son
Castle Faire! And that it is what
they did.
Last week at the Biyth Christian
Reformed Church and Biyth United
Church 140 children from the Biyth
area came to Vacation Bible School
every day to learn how to use their
talents to serve God. The children
discovered and developed their
own unique talents and abilities to
help others and serve.
With countless volunteers
helping throughout the week the
children were kept busy learning
new songs, creating interesting
crafts, enjoying delicious snacks
and meeting new friends.
Cornelius, the court jester started
each morning by acting out the
Bible Story for the day. Day one
was The Parable of the Talents
where the lesson focused on how
God wants all to use their talents
and abilities.
On day two, they read how
Miriam cared for Baby Moses and
that even children can use the
abilities God gave them to help
others.
Day three was David Plays for
Saul. This was on how people can
use their abilities to praise God and
to serve others with all their hearts.
The Building of the Temple came
on day four. People can use unique
talents to work together in God’s
family.
And on the last day, Philip Tells
the Good News about Jesus and
God’s gift is salvation. People can
share the good news with others.
The organizers were very excited
with the record number of children
who came out this year. Biyth
Christian Reformed Church, Biyth
United Church, Biyth Church of
God and Trinity Anglican Church
thank all those who volunteered
their time and talents to help teach
these children the importance of
God in their lives and how even
little children can use their talents
to serve the King.
