’'oohs and aahs” over it.
After the crowd had their fill of
first course, Ethel Ball, Addie
Hunking and Kay Lapp were called
to cut and serve the delicious cake.
The three were bom the year the
club started.
A couple of draws were made
and Bradley Lapp was the lucky
winner of the special plate. He was
also the youngest person present.
Martha Daer was the eldest
member. She has been a member
for a number of years. She has
moved to Goderich but attends
meetings as regularly as possible.
Two snapshot albums were
passed around. One went back a
number of years. Names of those in
the photos were shown. A good
number of families are still
represented in the group.
Members of today thank the
women who started this just after
World War I. It has been a
worthwhile and enjoyable club for
80 years and we trust for many,
many more.
The Walkerburn Club especially
thanks Hans and Audrey for the use
of their large recreation room for
the club’s 80th birthday. They also
enjoyed seeing the lovely flower
beds in their lawn.

to historic homes that are known in
the district. This was most
interesting and educational.
