She will be attending the University of Windsor in a four-year course to obtain her Bachelor of Social Work. RACHEL ARTHUR Rachel Arthur, a Goderich District Collegiate Institute graduate, will be attending King’s College at the University of Western Ontario, London, to study social sciences. She hopes to become a social worker. Rachel is the daughter of Mark and Mary Arthur of Auburn. Area girl, Seaforth scholar CHRISTINE ROCK Christine Rock is the daughter of Earl and Cheryl Rock of RR4 Walton. She will attend the University of Waterloo, in the Faculty of Arts, majoring in history, with the intention to teach. ERIN ROULSTON The daughter of Jill and Keith Roulston of RR3, Blyth, Erin Roulston will be attending The National Theatre School in Montreal to pursue dramatic studies. She is a graduate of Central Huron Secondary School in Clinton. Wedding announcement Jennifer Vanass and Prentice Scott were united in marriage by Rev. Lynn Nichol on June 19, 1999 at the home of John and Nancy Vanass. Maid of Honour was Jolanda Vanass of Sarnia. Bridesmaids were Paula Silcock of Brussels, Angie Wiens of Kitchener and April Scott of Walkerton. Best man was Allan Heesakkers of Ottawa. Ushers were Brent Robinson of Bright’s Grove, Darryl Vanass of Cranbrook and Steve Barton of Walkerton. Guests attended from New Brunswick, Quebec, Detroit, Windsor, Sarnia, Brownsville, Etobicoke, Woodstock, Listowel and Brussels. Jennifer and Prentice live in Windsor. Carol Glitz (nee Raymond) and Bill Simmons were united in marriage in a beautiful at-home ceremony on July 9, 1999. The bride and groom welcomed friends and family on Sunday, July 18 to a garden party at their home at R.R. #2, Palmerston. Special thanks is extended to Don Crawford and Bruce Raymond of Brussels, meat chefs with a deep secret recipe for tasty beef. TIM CALDWELL Tim Caldwell, son of Leslie and Evelyn Caldwell of RR3, Blyth, is a graduate of Central Huron Secondary School. He will attend the University of Guelph for a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with a major in animal science with hopes of becoming a veterinarian. CAPUCINE ONN Cappy Onn, the daughter of David Onn and Jeanette Harris of RR3, Blyth, is a graduate of Central Huron Secondary School, Clinton. Receiving recognition Blyth Fire Chief Paul Josling and Firefighter Dave Lee were among approximately 27 London area firefighters who received medals and certificates for 25 years of service to their departments at a ceremony held in London last Thursday. The firefighters’ wives were also recognized with the gift of a companion broach for supporting the men through their years of service.
