By Brook Wheeler and Crystal McLellan It is with great honour that we stand here tonight as members of the Brussels Public School 1998/99 Grade 8 graduating class and as valedictorians. We have been through so much together that there is no end to this list. Beginning with losing our teeth and learning how to tie our shoes, to acting like responsi ble students and going on a three- day trip to Ottawa. As representatives of the Grade 8 graduates we think we speak for everyone when we say we are excit ed about our big transition from pub lic school to high school, although we will always cherish, and treasure those memorable moments that occurred at Brussels Public School during our elementary years. Do you know what 185 days times nine years is? Just a second ... that would be 1665. Anyway, that is approximately how many days we have spent together at BPS with our friends, teachers, and helpers. Of course not all of the time did it seem that they were helping us choose the right path. Don't you remember that nagging? “You're not going out with your friends until you get your homework done!” I guess now as we reflect on our years we realize that all that hard work was for the better, and it will pay off in the future. As a new millennium approaches everyone is thinking about the future. We too think a lot of the future although we can’t decide what to do. We also daydream about what our classmates might grow up to become. One day one of us will be walking down the street when we happen to see a bright sign that reads “Shauna’s Hairstyling”, either that or she’ll be swimming with the Continued on page 20 IONAJO6I From the staff of COHGRATULAIIONS J L.
