L7CW discusses time
United service
Prelude by Nancy Park
welcomed all to the service at Knox
United.
Rev. Paul Ross gave the church
announcements.
Rev. Ross led in prayer. Scripture
was read from Psalm 71 where
David stated that God was his hope
and trust, his strength and refuge
and though he was growing old he
had trusted God since he was
young.
The second scripture was from
Luke 5. Christ spoke of the values
of the old and new and stated that
old is good.
The sermon was on growing old.
No one likes to think they are
growing old but such is life, said
Rev. Ross. Remarkable changes
have come in this world through
the years. For the main part they
are for the better. People must
respect the world, he said, and also
those who are aging in it. Through
the centuries man has been living in
God’s world. But years come to
man also. “Life is ours to live with
our trust in God.”
Dana and Joyce Bean received
and presented the offering.
Welcoming all to the morning
service were Dana and Joyce Bean
and children, Stephanie and
Michael. Brett and Tony Bean gave
out the church bulletins in the
sanctuary.
