Tbie news
As Rev. Paul Ross was attending
the London Conference in
Ridgetown the guest minister on
May 30 at Auburn United was
Richard Bain of Stratford.
The children were invited to the
front. Mr. Bain stated he was
pleased to see so many children
present. He asked them what they
thought the^ would be when they
grew up. He said they could change
their minds as the years passed and
God would help them make the
correct decision.
Scripture was from Psalm 139.
God knows all thoughts and works.
He has been and always will be
present in all that is done.
The second reading'was from
Micah 6. Hear what the Lord says.
From the New Testament I
Corinthians 13, the congregation
heard they are to have faith and
also use it to help others.
Mr. Bain’s sermon was ‘.‘Loves
quarrel with the world.” “We do
not want to accept things that
happen,” he said. “We wish
everything to go the way that we
would like it go go.”
However, life is not like that and
people but must learn that God is
always there to lead them.

He spoke of a young man telling
a priest that religion is all
nonsense. But the priest took him
to a church and pointed out the
cross with Christ dying there. The
priest said, “He died that we might
live." The young man saw God and
believed.
Anne Vincent and daughter,
LeeAnn, greeted everyone at the
door that morning. Bernice Gross
was organist.
Hard to choose
There was a vast selection of homemade pies prepared
for the Brussels Presbyterian Church supper, May 30, as
well as sumptuous main course foods. Nicole and Jodi
McIntosh of Walton had a hard time selecting just the
right flavour.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it
does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is
not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no
record of wrongs.
