Health Unit hosts night for women Women over 45 often find themselves at a stage of life with new health challenges and special opportunities, such as becoming a grandparent. A special evening dedicated to the health of women age 45+ (whether a grandma or not) will be held at Huron County Health Unit Auditorium on May 27. Refreshments, exhibits and social time start at 7 p.m. with guest speakers at 7:30 p.m. Speakers include Dr. Beth Henning, acting medical officer for Huron County. She has been involved in women’s public health programs in many parts of the globe, most recently in Huron County. Dr. Elizabeth Smith, a proud grandmother herself, is a family doctor practicing specifically in women’s health for over 30 years. She has had ongoing involvement with cervical cancer research. The evening will also feature Marguerite Falconer from the Family Health Program and Marguerite Thomas. Sonia Campagnaro, registered dietician, will be providing a healthy dessert break. For more information or to register, contact the Huron County Health Unit at 482-3416 or 1-800- 265-5 184 and ask for either Marguerite or Kelli. A fee of $5 covers desserts and handouts.
