Pupils visit Literacy Festival

May 20 was the track and field
day.
Field events were: running long
jump, standing long jump, triple
jump, high jump, softball throw
and shotput.
The running events were: 100
metre, 200 metre, 400 metre and
800 metre.

The Grade 1/2 class is very
excited about going to the Literacy
Festival on May 26 as their class
trip.
On May 27, they will enjoy “Play
Day” while other students are
participating in the Regional Track
and Field Meet in Seaforth.
The Grade 2s in the class are
continuing swimming lessons in
Vanastra.
They have recently begun their
“Second Step” program which

ing a PUC issue. Council autho
rized Clerk-Treasurer John Stewart
to contact, in writing, the PUC,
expressing council’s concerns with
the procedure that is followed to
collect PUC accounts which are in
arrears.
The vote was unanimous.

Authorization was given for the
payment of the $60 membership
fee to the Huron County Road
Superintendents Association.

A grant of $2,000 was received
by the Blyth Business Association
from the Huron Business Develop
ment Corporation to promote a
fundraising event for the proposed
amphitheatre.
Authorization was given from
Reeve Mason Bailey to sign the
agreement to receive the money.
Any further involvement with the
project would be dealt with on an
individual basis.

their EQAO testing, which was
focusing on math, reading and
writing. Now Grade 7 is busy
preparing for their math masters
testing, which will be written next
week.
