Rev. baptizes four
Greeters at Londesboro United
Church on Sunday, April 25 were
Ray and Betty Fisher. Ushers were
John and Barb Jewitt.
The sacrament of baptism was
held for four babies, Megan
Beattie, daughter of Darryl and
Leanne; Connor Driscoll, son of
Ben and Crystal; Joshua Rhynard,
son of Bill and Kathy Rhynard;
Nicole Whyte, daughter of Dave
and Karen Whyte.
The sermon topic was "Teaching
Kids".
The stewards and the session will
meet on Tuesday. May 4 in the
Sunday School room at 8 p.m.
The official board will meet at 9
p.m.
The guest speaker next Sunday is
Rev. Jane Kuipfer of Seaforth
United Church. This is Pulpit
Exchange Sunday.
M. Szusz conducts service
The April meeting of Londesboro
UCW was held at the church on
Monday, April 19 in the afternoon.
The worship service was
conducted by Marsha Szusz,
Marjorie Duizer and Cheryl
Trewartha. Scripture was read by
Cheryl. Marjorie gave a reading on
prayer. Marsha read a story, "What
Prayer Can Do". Cheryl read
"When prayers are Answered”.
Kittie read a prayer for children.
The minutes of March meeting
were read. Helen Lee gave the
treasurer's report. Correspondence
was read.from the Archambault
family.
The next meeting is May 17.
Lunch was served by Margaret
Wright, Bernice Norman, Dorothy
Tamblyn and Mary Anne Drost.
Spring colour
The fourth annual spring Arts and Crafts Fair at Central Huron Secondary School gave
Cappy Onn of Blyth an opportunity to practise her artistic designs on Emma Dale of Clinton.
The event, held Saturday was organized by the faculty with students volunteering their time

The April meeting of the Cheerio
Club was held on Wednesday,
April 21, beginning with lunch at
Kate’s Station. Members then
proceeded to the home of Beth
Knox in Clinton.
She opened with a reading.
The minutes of the March
meeting were read.
The draw, donated by Hazel, was
won by Margaret.
Seven members answered roll
call. The treasurer's report was
given. Two new members joined
the group, Phyllis Potter and Mary
East.
Edythe read The Little Red Hen
one on car insurance and one called
Pretty Good.
Cards were played.

WZ appoints new exec.
On April 22 at 12:30 p.m. at
Sticker's Restaurant, the Auburn
WI met for a delicious dinner.
After the meal they went to the
home of Teresa Roetcisoender.
President Tina Empey welcomed
all.
Reports of all meetings for the
WI year were given and accepted.
Secretary Evelyn Flett read the
minutes of the past meeting. Laura
Mae Chamney gave the nominating
committee report and new
appointments were sworn in by
Jean Plaetzer.
Tina Empey thanked all for their
assistance and wished the
upcoming president, Betty
Archambault the best in the future.
Jean Plaetzer gave a report on
upcoming events and Evelyn Flett
read a letter regarding a new name
for Women's Institute. Marjorie
McDougall reminded all that WI
have signs at the village entrance.
The answer was no to a change as
members are proud to be the
Women's Institute.
Betty Archambault discussed the
upcoming May meeting. A decision
to invite other WI's for the day was
made.
Membership fees and dues were
paid.
Dues were raised to $12 for
membership.

Organ prelude with Nancy Park
as organist welcomed all to the
service at Knox United on April 25
at 9:45 a.m.
The children came to the front.
Rev. Paul Ross showed them
Canadian Tire money and they
spoke about its use.
Rev. Ross explained the use to
which cash is used in worshipping
God.
Rev. Ross gave scripture from
Acts 2, on the wonders and signs
done by the Apostles and how
those who accepted their teachings
helped others and followed Christ's
word.
From John 10 was the parable of
the sheep and the shepherd.
Rev. Ross's sermon was
