In loving memory of our son and brother who was tragically taken from us 2 years ago April 26,1997. It's been 2 years since you left us and not a day goes by that we don't think of you. We think about the things you did and said and how you filled our lives with love. We go on each day without you and only few could know how hard that is and the pain we feel. Please if you knew Luke take a moment and remember him for us, for all we have are memories of our angel up above. Forever loved and missed Mom, Dad, Kyle, Adam and Cody. All members answered the roll call. Everyone showed their homework, an interview the members had to do with a non profit organization instructor (e.g. soccer coach). Each club member took a turn reading a page in the 4-H book, then played a game about making observations. Julia helped the others fill in a 4-H sheet in their book. On Wednesday, April 14 the Brussels #1 4-H club held its fifth meeting at Julia Mitchell's house. Six out of eight members attended the two-hour meeting. Julia announced that the 4-H garage sale will be held on May 29 and that that will be the member's achievement program. All of the members were disappointed to hear that they will no longer receive bars and plaques for the projects they complete. Everyone read the roll call and gave their own answer to it. Members all took turns reading in the 4-H book. Kathy Bridge helped the members judge business cards. The members divided into groups to work on the posters to advertise their garage sale. UCW learns about garlic Continued from page 16 garlic is as good as 10 mothers. Here are some of the uses: it boosts the immune system, it's an anti viral and fights infections (it used to be called a poor man's penicillin), it's preventative to cancer, it thins blood, is an antioxidant, lowers blood pressure, lowers cholesterol, combats fatigue (early Egyptians fed their workers garlic so they would have more energy to build the pyramids) and slows down the aging system. The saying in France is "Garlic is health so eat it." She makes a tonic of garlic and apple cider vinegar and has some every day. It helps with sore throats and colds. Eating parsley or eating a coffee bean will help take the odour from one's breath. Shannon made some delicious chocolate chip garlic cookies and there was no taste of garlic at all. Door prizes winners were Edith Wey, Teresa Baan and Patty Banks. Dennises greet Olene and Murray Dennis were greeters at Duffs United Church on April 18. Rev. James Murray welcomed everyone and announced that on April 22, the pastoral charge official board meeting is at 8 p.m. in Walton.
