THE CITIZEN, WEDNESDAY, APRIL 14,1999. PAGE 3. Kathy’s Korner By Kathy Bromley On Monday, March 29 there were five tables being used for the weekly euchre card party at Bainton's Art Gallery. The high lady was Jane Giousher, while Lawrence Plaetzer was the recipient for the men's high score. Bernice Higgins had the most lone hands, as did Graeme McDowell who captured the title for the men. The low scores for the evening went to Marjorie East and Lloyd Appleby. On April Fool’s Day, six men completely overlooked that element, as serious work had to be done. They met at the Blyth Legion Branch 420 to remove the piano stool that has been there for an unknown number of years. This was transferred to Clinton and auctioned off last Saturday. The money made from this is the Legion's way of contributing to the Blyth Senior's monthly meal hosted by the Town and Country and numerous volunteers. This definitely is a generous donation put out by the Legion. Thanks Comrades, we greatly appreciate it. Hitting the streets The Blyth Brownies were a frequent sight on the village streets Tuesday night as they began their cookie sale blitz. Brownie Brittany Cartwright stopped by The North Huron Citizen office Monday afternoon to present editor Bonnie Gropp with a box of goodies as the campaign got underway. Residents can call any Brownie or leader if they were missed during the sales drive. COMMUNITY MEAL Memorial Hall Blyth, Ontario Blyth People Euchre results at Memorial Hall on Monday, April 5 were: high lady, Erma Cook; high man, Norman Turnbull; ladies’ lone hands, Effie McCall; men's lone hands, Kay Konarski; ladies’ low, Carol Daer; men's low, Everett Scrimgeour.
