With those big ears the Easter Bunny, visiting at Mom's Pizza and Subs grand opening on
Saturday, could have used some extra big plugs when local punk band Perish entertained in
the afternoon and evening. In the morning the furry special guest helped dozens of
youngsters search in the Easter egg hunt, hosted by Mom’s at the Brussels Public School
yard.
Madill students organize fundraiser
The students in the F. E. Madill
Secondary School Cancer
committee are very busy organizing
a Coffee House for Cancer to be
held on Friday, April 16 at 7 p.m.
at Madill.
April is Cancer Month and these
students are concerned by the
number of people cancer touches in
these communities. Organizer
Danielle Wagar said, "It is
important for me to help find a cure
for cancer. Since I am not able to

and the music is playing at
Wonderland Gardens April 9 as the
Royal Canadian Big Band Music
Festival celebrates the season with
a dinner dance featuring The
Canadian Modernaires Orchestra,
directed by Jim Davey and
including the vocal stylings of
Denise Pelley and David Reddoch.
This event also includes the
Festival's annual fundraising
auction.
The springtime event continues
the Festival's year-long 15th
anniversary celebration with
monthly themed dinner and brunch
dances.
Tickets for the April 9 event,
6 p.m. to midnight, are $25 for

NDP open headquarters
The NDP election planning
committee met in Lucknow on
March 28. They agreed on an April
10 official opening of the Huron-
Bruce NDP campaign headquarters
in Goderich.
Tony McQuail, the NDP
candidate for Huron-Bruce, told the
committee, "I have already been on
the campaign trail meeting groups
such as the Goderich Area Labour
Council, Community Services
Network, and the Bruce Registered
Nurses' Association."
He went on to report that, "funds,
calls of support and requests for
bookings have already been coming
in as I have never seen in prior
campaigns. There is a lot of
concern about the effect the Harris
government is having on our
