Beautify home for IPM Playing in style Teams from Brussels Minor Hockey enjoyed a small celebration on Sunday. Suited up in new attire thanks to the Optimists, Lions, Legion, Brussels Transport and Minor Hockey the teams took to,the ice for some scrimmage games. (Ashley Gropp photo) The Beautification Competition running as a prelude to the International Plowing Match and Farm Machinery show to be held in Huron County near Dashwood Sept. 21 - 25 is accepting entries for all classes except Class #3. The Hay, McKillop, Usbome and Hibbert, West Wawanosh and Howick Mutual Insurance Companies are the sponsors of the competition. Registration forms are available at those locations or call Bill or Marlene Munn at 263-5096. Information and the registration form is also available on the Internet at http://www.ipm99.on.ca or from any beautification committee member listed. The early bird registration winner was Chuck and Tanya Erb from Zurich. The following classes have a deadline registration of April 30: Class #l - Farm Gateway/ Entrance Most Attractive Class #2 - Farmstead Most Attractive** Class #3 - Farmstead Most Improved - (Closed to entries) Class #4 - Agri-Business Most Attractive Class #5 - Rural Home - Most Attractive Class #6 - Urban Home - Most Attractive Class #7 - Seasonal Cottage - Most Attractive Class #8 - Best Community Landscape/ Beautification Project** Notes** Class #2 must be a farm operation. Class #8 must be done on public lands to beautify community Judging will take place the end of June. Competition is open to all residents and/or property owners of Huron County. An entry fee of $20 includes two tickets to the awards banquet to be held Aug. 19. Stereo stolen in McKillop On Jan. 22 at 7:15 p.m. a resident from Cone. 5 in McKillop Twp. reported the theft of a stereo. Sometime over the last few weeks someone entered an unlocked driving shed and stole the stereo from a pickup truck parked inside. Guild plans concert Continued from page 19 report. A thank you card was read from Kay Rutledge. The Guild will serve a lunch following the concert put on by "The After Eights" who are & group of nine retired teachers on Friday, April 23. The Melville Crew will present a 15 minute interlude at break time. The concert will be a fundraising event for Melville Church choir. The church banner, that is to be made for the International Plowing Match, was discussed. Members paid their membership and told what they do to combat the winter blahs. The Guild will make a donation to the Memorial Fund in memory of Thelma Cardiff. Joanne King and Jeanne Ireland will look after the meeting to be held on Feb. 16. prog. Trials for transfer of the tags from the carcass to the meal are lhe next step. "It would seem simple, but in fact it is not," said Gracey. The program will be mandatory.
