FOR INFORMATION CALL 482-1418 On January 15, at approximately 10:30 a.m. police were notified of a woman being struck by a vehicle on South Street in Goderich. According to police, Minnie Peterson, 83, had just purchased groceries from a local grocery store and was walking home. She crossed the street and attempted to enter an opening in the snowbank towards her residence. A local contractor was removing snow from the entrance that led into an apartment building with a Case front-end loader, driven by Paul Plunkett, 31, of Auburn who was reversing into the space to remove more snow. Peterson had walked into the space where the front-end loader was reversing, striking the victim. She was fatally injured. The investigation continues.
