Raceway and the 2019 Walton

Melody Hodgson, co-owner of
Walton Raceway. ”Obviously [co-
owner Brett Lee] and I poured our
hearts into this, took some real
chances and were blessed with great
support. It has been great working
with the Jetwerx team [owner of the

is a real honour to be recognized by
our community.”

“This year felt like one team
pulling in a common direction,” said
Lee. “Thank you to all our friends
and staff, especially track manager
Barry Hetherington, our sponsors,
the riders, the Jetwerx pro series

Boneschanskers celebrate 65th anniversary
John and Carol Boneschansker
celebrated their 65th wedding
anniversary surrounded by family
and friends on Sunday at the Four
Winds Barn in Brussels.
The Boneschanskers marked the
milestone with an open house
followed by a special family dinner.
While they recently sold their
Brussels-area farm, retired and
moved into Seaforth, they still think
of Brussels as home, making their
way back for events like Lions Club
meetings, the Brussels Fall Fair and
the farmers’ market.
Carol, the daughter of Boelo and
Dieuwerke Meijer of Winschoten in
the Netherlands wed John
Boneschansker, son of Jan Willem
and Antje of Scheemda, the
Netherlands in Holland Marsh,
Ontario on Oct. 29, 1954.
The ceremony was presided over
by Rev. Lagerwey. The couple’s
attendants were Bob Boneschansker
and Jackie Koolhof.
After being wed, the
Boneschanskers returned to the
Netherlands on their honeymoon.
Afterwards they operated a dairy
farmed near Kettleby, Ontario with
John handling the farming and Carol
as a wife, mother and homemaker.
The two list 4-H leadership, the
Brussels Fall Fair Board and the
Lions Club of Brussels as their
interests.
Carol and John have six children:
Bill, Dorothy, Annette, Cathy, Bruce
and Robert; 10 grandchildren:
Amanda, Melissa, Michael, Darcy,
Devin, Carolyn, Telisa, Jennifer,
Erica and Sonya, and 15 great-
grandchildren: Korbin, Amberle,
Kahlen, Gabriella, Luca, Nathan,
Penelope, Owan, Makailyn, Tucker,
Annabelle, Madisson, Scarlet,
Katrina and Jensen.
