Knox United Church, Belgrave on
Sunday, Sept. 22.
On Saturday, Sept. 28, Camp
Menesetung’s turkey dinner is from
4:30 - 7 p.m. The last breakfast with
Brian Hymers will be on Sunday,
Sept. 29.
There will be a joint service at
Belgrave United Church at 11:15
a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6. There is a
potluck lunch and social time with
Brian and Jackie to follow. Everyone
is welcome.
Cards resume at the Belgrave
Community Centre on Friday, Sept.
27 at 1:30 p.m. Everyone is
welcome. Please come out and enjoy
a game of shoot.
Knox United Church, Belgrave is
having a fashion show on Saturday,
Oct. 19 at 1 p.m. Thrifty Threads
will be showing their fall fashions.
Tickets are $5. Clothing is available
for purchase following the fashion

Total receipts for Brussels
Livestock for the week ending Sept.
20 were 1,964 cattle and 470 lambs
and goats.
On Tuesday fed steers and heifers
sold on a selective demand at prices
$2 to $3 lower. Choice steers and
heifers sold $137 to $150 with sales
to $156. Second cut steers and
heifers sold $131 to $135. Cows sold
on an easier trade.
On Thursday veal sold on a strong
active trade at prices $5 to $10.
Lambs sold slightly lower, sheep and
goats sold steady. On Friday calves
sold steady. Yearling cattle sold
under pressure with off-grass cattle
remaining steady.
Chris Smith of Brussels consigned
14 steers that averaged 1,586 lbs.
and sold for an average price
of $143.77. One gold steer
weighed 1,605 lbs. and sold for
$156. Warren and Marion Becker
of Ayton, consigned five steers
that averaged 1,529 lbs. and sold
for an average price of $137.10.
One limousin steer weighed
1,560 lbs. and then sold for $140.
There were 250 cows on offer.
Beef sold $75 to $85 with sales to
$91; D1, $68 to $76 with sales to
$83; D2, $61 to $67; D3, $55 to $60.
David G. Bowman of Holyrood,
consigned one charolais cow that
weighed 1,790 lbs. and sold for an
average price of $89.
There were 24 bulls selling $84 to
$124. Wilderness Ranch of
Monkton, consigned one black bull
that weighed 1,870 lbs. and sold for
$124. Robert Graff of Walkerton,
consigned one charolais bull that
weighed 1,675 lbs. and sold for
$124.
There were 165 head of veal on
offer. Beef veal sold $140 to $165
with sales to $170; good holsteins,
$125 to $128 with sales to $130; Sl
heavy holsteins, $110 to $118;
heavy holsteins, $92 to $105;
medium holsteins, $95 to $110;
plain holsteins, $70 to $85.
Lamar Frey of Listowel,
consigned six heifers that averaged
893 lbs .and sold for an average
price of $147.34. One blonde heifer
weighed 905 lbs. and sold for $170.
Paul Pennington, Mildmay,
consigned 15 holstein steers that
averaged 708 lbs. and sold for an
average price of $118.64. One
holstein steer weighed 675 lbs. and
sold for $129. Grant Bergsma of
Londesborough, consigned two
holstein steers that averaged 698 lbs.
and sold for an average prie of
$125.99. One holstein steer weighed
695 lbs. and sold for $128.
Lambs 50 - 64 lbs. sold $196 to
$217; 65 - 79 lbs., $218 to $241; 80
- 94 lbs., $196 to $214; 95 - 109 lbs.,
$182 to $201; 110 lbs. and over,
$182 to $192.
Sheep sold $100 to $170.
Goats: billies sold $150 to $300;
nannies, $80 to $150; kids: dairy,
$200 to $297; meat, $275 to $350.
Herman Ramaker of Clinton,
consigned 17 lambs that averaged 98
lbs. and sold for an average price of
$200.10. Twelve lambs averaged 98
lbs. and sold for an average price of
$201.

400 lbs. sold $227 to $270; 400 -
499 lbs., $206 to $242; 500 - 599
lbs., $212 to $228; 600 - 699 lbs.,
$197 to $229; 700 - 799 lbs., $185 to
$200; 800 - 899 lbs., $184 to $190;
900 - 999 lbs., $181 to $191; 1,000
lbs. and over, $170 to $186.
Top quality stocker heifers, 400 -
499 lbs. sold $173 to $197; 500 -
599 lbs., $146 to $185; 600 - 699
lbs., $159 to $191; 700 - 799 lbs.,
$161 to $184; 800 - 899 lbs., $165 to
$191; 900 lbs. and over, $151 to
$191.
Ephraim Weber of Holyrood,
consigned 28 heifers. Twelve
charolais heifers averaged 855 lbs.
and sold for an average price of
$177.25. Kevin Horseburg of
Holstein, consigned 39 steers.
Eighteen charolais steers averaged
1,033 lbs. and sold for an average
price of $186. Dan and Doug
McComb of Chatsworth, consigned
123 black steers. Nine steers
averaged 911 lbs. and sold for an
average price of $191.
