NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
REGARDING THE NORTH HURON
COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT PLAN
TAKE NOTICE that the Council for the Corporation of the Township of
North Huron will hold a public meeting on Monday, October 21, 2019
at 6:00 p.m. in the North Huron Council Chambers at 274
Josephine Street in Wingham to consider amending the Community
Improvement Plan (CIP) for North Huron under Section 28 of the
Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990 as amended.
The PURPOSE of the public meeting is to consider the proposed
amendment to the Community Improvement Plan (CIP) to add the
Structural Grant Program, a new incentive program that would allow
applicants proposing significant structural work and met criteria for
improving accessibility, safety, energy efficiency, and increasing mixed
use of commercial/residential to be eligible for available funding.
The EFFECT of the CIP amendment is to add a second grant program
for eligible applicants and provide financial incentives for investment in
rehabilitation, development and redevelopment of the buildings within
the commercial areas of downtown Wingham and Blyth. A section
describing the Grant for Structural Work, its intent for a successful
application, and eligibility criteria would be added to the CIP and the
corresponding North Huron CIP Application would also be amended
to reflect the second program.
ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make written or
verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the
proposed CIP amendment. If a person or public body does not make
oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to
the Clerk of the Corporation of the Township of North Huron at the
address below before the proposed CIP amendment is adopted, the
person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the
Council of the Corporation of the Township of North Huron to the Local
Planning Appeal Tribunal, and may not be added as a party to the
hearing of an appeal before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal
unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to
do so.
IF YOU WISH TO BE NOTIFIED of the adoption of the CIP
amendment, or the refusal to adopt the CIP amendment, you must
make a written request to the Clerk of the Township of North Huron at
the address below and such request must include the name and
address to which such notice should be sent.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Text showing the proposed
amendments to the Community Improvement Plan are available on
the Township website (www.northhuron.ca) and at the municipal office
(274 Josephine Street, Wingham).

Greeting and ushering
worshippers at Blyth United Church
on Sunday , Sept. 22 was Nicole
Layton. Susanna Lyman was guest
pianist, Katie Dockstader, choir
director and John Stewart ran the
power point.
Rev. David Kai, guest speaker,
welcomed everyone to church.
David Onn announced that there are
still tickets for the fall supper on
Oct. 19. Tickets are available
from any of the Board of Stewards
members or at Nicole’s Hairstyling.
Next Sunday will be a joint
service with Brussels United at
Brussels at 11 a.m. It was also
announced that the UCW meeting
on Thursday, Sept. 26 would be at
the home of Emily Phillips at 1:30
p.m. Anyone needing a ride can call
Joan Clark at 519-523-9659.
The Holy Rollers are back in
action in October. October orders
are already full. You can order by
calling Donna Moore at 519-523-
9855 to place an order for
November. Katie Dockstader
informed the congregation that choir
practice is starting for the fall for an
hour after the church service.
Anyone is invited to come out and
join the choir.
Rev. Kai lit the Christ candle on
the altar table and he invited
everyone to greet one another. He
told the congregation that most of
the things that are written about
Jesus are when He was an adult.
Jesus likely went to school and
worked alongside His parents.
The Gospel of Luke tells us that
Jesus grew in both body and
wisdom. The children’s hymn was
“Jesus Loves Me.”
Rev. Kai’s message to the
congregation was, “Who Do You
Say I Am?” We have many images
of Jesus. The most famous one is the
portrait of Jesus. Some of the
popular ones are of Jesus blessing
the children, Jesus at the Last
Supper and Jesus calming the
waters.
The next hymn, “Jesus, Teacher,
Brave and Bold”, was sung. The
offering was received followed by
the offertory response, “What Can I
Do?”, the offertory prayer, the
prayers for the people, silent prayers
and the singing of the Lord’s Prayer.
The last hymn, “Love Divine, All
Loves Excelling”, was sung. The
commissioning and benediction
were followed by the singing of the
hymn, “Wherever You May Go, I
Will Follow”. Everyone was invited
for coffee and fellowship after the
service.

The inside scoop
A talk-back for Mark Crawford’s Bed and Breakfast was held in the lower hall of Blyth Memorial
Hall last Friday. The event allowed Crawford, right, his real-life partner and the other half of the
two-man show Paul Dunn, centre, and Blyth Festival Artistic Director Gil Garratt to talk about
the genesis of the play and how it made its way to Blyth. (Shawn Loughlin photo)
