The Blyth Firefighters’
Association will host its famous
breakfast at 7:30 a.m. on both
Saturday and Sunday mornings at
the Emergency Services Training
Centre, which will soon be replaced
by a new fire hall in the north end of
the village.
The campground gates open again
at 8 a.m., followed by the displays
and vendors opening up shop and
the Lifestyles programming begins
at 9 a.m., followed by the tractor pull
and horse demonstration at 10 a.m.
The second annual consignment
auction sale of tools and equipment
will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
The day’s threshing demon-
strations will take place at 10:30
a.m. and 1:15 p.m., with the potato-
picking demonstration at 10:30 a.m.
The Blyth United Church will
again serve lunch from 11 a.m. to 1
p.m. and then dinner from 4-6 p.m.
At noon, the Blyth Lions Club will
open the beer garden at Blyth Lions
Park, while Pearce’s Country Music
will take over the main stage from
noon until 4 p.m.
The annual fiddle competition,
which routinely attracts some of the
top talent in the province, begins in
Shed 3 at 12:30 p.m., followed by a
performance by the Clinton Pipe
Band at 1 p.m.
Also at 1 p.m., the tractor pull will
resume, followed by the garden
tractor pull, the children’s garden
and lawn tractor rodeo and the
children’s pedal tractor pull.
Special events such as bag-tying
and belt-setting will begin at 1:30
p.m., followed by a performance by
the Teeswater Pipe Band at 3 p.m.
The 50/50 draw will again be
made on the main stage at 4 p.m.,
followed by the daily parade.
Glen Hodgins will emcee a jam
session in Shed 2 on Saturday night,
while Tom Melady will emcee the
jam session in Shed 3.
The Twilight Serenaders will be
on stage in the tent at 6 p.m., while
the Tri-Country Band will play from
8 p.m. to midnight in the auditorium.
Sunday begins again with the
firefighters’ breakfast, beginning at
7:30 a.m., while the doors open at 8
a.m.
Displays are open again at 9 a.m.,
while the church service will begin
in Shed 3 at 9:30 a.m.
The threshing demonstrations will
be held at 11 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. that
day, while the horse demonstration
will begin at 11 a.m. and the tractor
pull will begin once the church
service has concluded.
The annual step dancing
competition begins at 12:30 p.m.
and it requires pre-registration by e-
mailing Susan Van Egmond at
forsushie@gmail.com.
