An incredible shrinking coffee
party is coming to a home near you.
Wheels Away is launching its
fundraising campaign for a new
mobility van with special coffee
parties hosted by some of its
supporters in the North Huron and
South Bruce area.
The mobility van currently
transporting area residents who
wish to remain active while unable
to drive is six years old. To keep
maintenance costs at a reasonable
level and respect safety standards, a
new van will have to be purchased
next year. Wheels Away is
operated by North Huron Special
Transit Corporation, a non-profit
organization that is supported in
look after tables, David and Joan
Perrie.
The afternoon was spent
reminiscing and looking at pictures
of the past years. Others took part
in the sports and games outside.
Several prizes were given for the
guessing contests.
Guests were present from Blyth,
Brussels, Cranbrook, Carleton
Place, Campbellford, Monkton,
Godcrich, Puslinch, Point Clark,
Seaforth, London, Syracuse N.Y.,
Victoria B.C. and the Walton area.
Next year's reunion will be the
third Sunday in August at the
Walton Hall.
great part by the United Way.
Although the Ministry of
Transportation will pay up to 50
per cent of the purchasing cost for a
new vehicle, Wheels Away must
raise the balance.
