The 3rd instalment of taxes for the Village of Brussels Is due on
Wednesday, September 4, 1996. Interest at 1-1/4% per month and
part thereof will be charged after this due date. Please note that
people who have acquired properties and have not received a tax bill
does not relieve a taxpayer from responsibility for payment of taxes,
nor from penalty for late payment.

rewarding a lifestyle as possible.
Breathe Easy, sponsored by The
Lung Association, Horizon Pro
Health and Wingham & District
Hospital, begins Wednesday, Sept.
18 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. and will
run for six consecutive

In response to a complaint
received, the Brussels Morris Grcy
Recreation Board reviewed its poli-
cy of profits for lessees on bar
receipts.
Discussing the matter at the Aug.
13 meeting, board members were
advised by Assistant Arena Manag-
er Abigail Corbett, that a large
buck and doe gathering would net a
maximum of about $3,000, includ-
ing admissions and raffles.
The board stressed that the 50
cents return per drink could not be
increased due to LCBO policies.
It was also pointed out the advan-
tages of the system which include
no bartending cost, confectionary
costs, insurance coverage, security
costs as well as the time and money
spent to obtain the liquor license
and liquor.
Corbett told the board the majori-
ty of lessees were content with the

travention with the liquor license.
Requests for tenders for the pur-
chase and installation of a control
system for the brine pump and
compressor were sent to six compa-
nies. Tenders are due Sept. 10 with
installation to be completed by
Sept. 20.
The board was advised of a 5.2
percent increase in group insurance
coverage for staff.
Preparations are underway for
the Business Christmas Dance.
