During the talks, there was a beginning point of the Wingham Fire Area mentioned. Such an alignment would not take the south half of Morris into consideration nor Brussels or Grey Twp. Elliott said there as yet has been no input from Morris Twp residents regarding their preference for restructuring. In response to the Morris and Tumberry consideration to proceed in their own direction for restruc turing, Grey Twp. Reeve Robin Dunbar expressed his disappoint ment. “The North Huron group has not set combinations (for restructur ing),” he said. “We are just trying to get figures for future considera tion.” “The clerks did a comparison of the cost to deliver services and we are trying to build on mat. we are looking for cost saving and effi ciencies.” “If this process (current restruc turing meetings) saves the taxpay ers money in the end, it is worth it,” said Dunbar. In response to statements that the meetings are a waste of money, Dunbar said the comparison has allowed municipalities to see what others are spending and find effi ciencies. “It gives us a good finan cial picture. It is something we should have done long ago.” Brussels Reeve Ralph Watson backs up Dunbar’s sentiments say ing the village has spent about $500 and has found at least that much in savings already. The meetings have also helped in the day-to-day business of getting together with other municipalities for projects, he added. The next North Huron group meeting is Jan. 8, in Belgrave. Christmas story Continued from page 15 given him. He came under conviction of his sins, pulled his rig off the road and turned his life over to Christ. The result is that this formerly tongue-tied driver has recorded on tape, two and a half hours of testimony concerning the miracle that has taken place in his life. His sister, who is a Christian, tells me that she listened with tears of joy as her brother told her over the phone of his singing out his love for his Saviour as he drives his truck over the road. What a night in the lives of these shepherds! If one was to ask them many years later about what was the most memorable event in their lives, they would reply, "Let us tell you about one enchanted evening..."
