Heifers avg. $88 to $94, reach $101
The sales at Brussels Livestock
for the week ending Dec. 12 were:
fed cattle, 619; cows, 458; veal and
bob calves, 504; lambs and goats,
492; and stackers, 1,522.1(7 11 ™1? arm
The fed steers and heifers sold on
a good steady trade. Cows traded
steady to last week. Veal and lambs
traded on a steady market. All
classes of stackers sold on a steady
trade.
There were 292 steers on offer
selling from $88 to $94 to the high
of $103.50. Forty-two steers
consigned by Cunningham Farms,
Lucan, averaging 1,482 lbs. sold
for an average of $91.40 with sales
to $103.50. Twenty-one steers
consigned by Martin Metske,
Lucknow, averaging 1,241 lbs. sold
for an average of $89.37 with sales
to $100. Thirty steers consigned by
Kada Farms, Bluevale, averaging
1,355 lbs. sold for an average of
$92.96 with sales to $99.25.

Giousher, Wingham, averaging
1,418 lbs. sold for an average of
$93.60 with sales to $94.75.

Governments
announce
infrastructure
funding
In a joint federal and provincial
government announcement, local
municipalities were told Friday, of
approvals for infrastructure fund
ing.
Of the $362,998 allotted to five
projects, Grey Twp. will receive
$94,000 for installation of a new
concrete deck overlay, curbs and
railings on Alcock Bridge.
"I am pleased we are able to
carry out this necessary mainte
nance," said Grey Twp. Reeve
Robin Dunbar. "The bridge is an
essential element in our transporta
tion network."
Clinton will receive $110,000 for
new storm sewers on Park Lane
from Albert to Beech Street.
The reconstruction of McConnell
Street in Exeter will be granted
$81,820 while Colbome Twp. will
receive $26,162 for the upgrade of
a heavily used road to a smooth
asphalt surface.
Stephen Twp. will get $48,131
for the replacement of deteriorating
sections of a sanitary sewer collec
tion line in the-Huron Park residen
tial subdivision.
