The home team sailed to victory in this one with a 3-1 win. Blyth Tykes win 2, lose 1 The Blyth Tyke Bulldogs enjoyed a good week, winning two and losing one. On Nov. 29, the team suffered a whitewashing at the hands of a vis­ iting Zurich squad. Two days later, however, they sent Bayfield home in defeat. Tony Bean scored the hattrick in the 3-1 effort. The first one was in Blyth, Nov. 27 against Clinton where the team skated to a 3-3 tie. Darcy Cook, Cody Anderson and Tyler Kernighan scored for the home squad. Assists went to Kernighan, Darren Austin, Ryan McClinchey and Brett Bean. Two nights later it was a white­ wash in Mitchell, then on Dec. 4, the team came back to defeat a vis­ iting Hensall squad 8-3. Scorers were Anderson, with a hattrick, Kernighan, Darcy Cook, Nathan Witherspoon, McClinchey and Darren Austin. Assists went to Austin, with three, McClinchey, Witherspoon, two, Bean, two, Cody Anderson, two, Darcy Cook and Kernighan. the second when Lucas Young of Elma-Logan brought the game within one point. The two teams, Clinton and Mitchell faced off in the annual Blyth Legion tournament this past Saturday. Mitchell went on to win this contest 5-0. The A champions were Seaforth who beat Kincardine 4-3. Teeswater claimed the B with a 3-1 decision over Lucknow.
