Blyth Fest, gets 7 nominations Blyth Festival Theatre captured a total of seven Stage Door Award nominations with this year's pro­ ductions of Quiet in the Land and Melville Boys. Quiet in the Land pulled in four nominations in the drama category including best drama, best actor for David Fox, best actress for Sharon Bernbaum and best supporting actor for Barna Moricz. In the comedy division, Melville Boys was nominated for best show, and Sharon Bernbaum got a second nod for best actress. Leslie Wilkinson earned Quiet a fifth nomination for best lighting. Stage Door Awards are presented for excellence in Southwestern Ontario professional theatre (out­ side Toronto), in 20 categories. The awards focus on new productions and cover the areas of drama, com­ edy, musical and technical. Winners will be announced later this month. The popular Gail and Brad's Marvelous Wedding Adventure made its comeback performance at Blyth Memorial Hall. Festival Singers perform ‘Gloria’ The Blyth Festival Singers will perform selections from Vivaldi’s Gloria on Sunday, Dec. 7 in Goderich at Knox Presbyterian Church. The classic work will be conducted by Wade Whittaker with accompanist Richard Hansen and the Blyth Festival Orchestra. The Blyth Festival singers will also perform several other Christmas selections at their annual December concert. Performances will be held at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. Home-baked Christ­ mas cookies and refreshments will be served at receptions following the concerts. Tickets are available in advance from choir members or at the following outlets: Blyth Festival Box Office at 523-9300, Snyder Studios in Wingham, Campbell’s Photography in Goderich, Dutch Store in Clinton and Nifty Comers in Seaforth.
