Brussels Livestock report Market holds steady on good active trading The sales at Brussels Livestock for the week ending Nov. 28 were: fed cattle, 653; cows, 511; veal and bob calves, 618; lambs and goats, 182; stockers, 1,717. $94.75. Thirty-two steers consigned by Cunningham Farms, Lucan, averaging 1,537 lbs. sold for an average of $89.10 with sales to $94.60. Eight steers consigned F arm The fed steers and heifers sold on a good strong active trade at steady prices. The cows sold steady. Veal sold steady with lambs selling on an active steady trade. All classes of stockers sold on a steady trade. There were 352 steers on offer selling from $90 to $95 to the high of $103.50. Thirty-nine steers consigned by Murray Shiell, Wingham, averaging 1,375 lbs. sold for an average of $90.87 with sales to $97.25. Thirteen steers consigned by Schmidt Brook Farms Inc., Woodstock, averaging 1,414 lbs. sold for an average of $93.30 with sales to $97. Seven steers consigned by Dave McClinchey, Auburn, averaging 1,345 lbs. sold for an average of $94.43 with sales to $96.50. Twenty steers consigned by Kada Farms, Bluevale, averaging 1,367 lbs. sold for an average of $91.23 with sales to $95.75. Each Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Senior Constable Halbe Claus, the firearms officer for Huron County, will be on-hand to receive FAC (firearms acquisition certificate) applications, provide transportation permits for restricted weapons as well as registration, and deal with permits for minors to pos­ sess firearms (thereby allowing them to hunt with a adult), said OPP Constable John Marshall.
