London couple purchases Hillcrest Restaurant By Janice Becker Citizen staff For a couple from London, run­ ning a small business in the country was just what they were looking for. They discovered it in the Hill­ crest Restaurant and Gas Bar in Londesboro, on Hwy 4. Denis Bernard and Sandi Walker took over the business on Nov. 1 after searching several areas across southwestern Ontario for the right operation. "My thinking had always been to get into business," said Bernard. "We were looking for the country life in a country atmosphere." When they saw the establishment advertised in a local real estate paper, "It looked good," said Walk­ er. "It could make a living for both of us and had living quarters included." Both Bernard and Walker have been involved in similar businesses for years and said this is a good location. "It is a good place for snowmo- bilers to stop in; someplace they can get a meal," said Walker. Seating 34 and providing ample parking, Walker encourages the winter sport enthusiasts to drop by. While making changes to the running of Hillcrest, regulars to the eatery will see familiar faces as the wait staff will remain the same. "We appreciate the continued support of past clientele," said Bernard, "and we hope they contin­ ue to do business here."
