Sweeping in Charlotte Worsen, a member of the Blyth PeeWee broomball team, has control as she moves in on the ball during a contest Saturday afternoon in Blyth against a visiting Mildmay team. The visitors went home victorious 2-0. Midgets face tough squad The Blyth Midget Bulldogs faced off against one of the area's strongest Midget teams on Nov. 17 as Lucknow came to town. Rob Lawrie Bulls lose again Friday night saw the Bulls in Hanover against the Barons. The Bulls scored four times in the first period on a couple of single markers and two goals by Josh Cressman, then held the advantage into the second period. A poor second period allowed the Barons to tie the game and in the third period take the lead. Hanover eventually won the game 6 - 4. Saturday night Wingham was in town to take on the Bulls but due to a scheduling mix up were short on referees, so the game had to be postponed and will be played at a later date. Sunday afternoon the Walkerton Blackhawks came to town. The Bulls are trailing the fourth place Hawks by four points but by the end of the day the lead would be six points as Corey Hayter would have four goals and two assists to spur his team on to victory. The Hawks jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead on a Hayter natural hattrick, but the Bulls came stampeding back with three goals in two minutes and three seconds. The, first goal was by Craig Morrissey, assisted by Dan Sinclair and Gary Staples, the second by Dan Sinclair, assisted by Morrissey and Steve Henderson and the third to tie the game by Jarrett Jeffrey with helpers going to Rob Knechtel and Andy Agar. Walkerton however scored three unanswered goals to make the game 6-3 before Brett Fischer scored with 5:21 left in the third. The Blackhawks scored an empty net goal to make the final 7 - 8 in favour of Walkerton. The Bulls only play once next . weekend when they travel to Mount Forest for an 8:30 game. The next home game for the Bulls will be Sunday, Dec. 7 against those same Mount Forest Patriots at 2 p.m. at the BMG Community Centre. They went on to face Zurich on Nov. 21 to suffer an 8-3 loss. The Bulldogs didn't get on the board until the third period. The score was 7-0 and with 11 minutes left Tyler Kemighan scored the first goal for the team.
