The money was raised over Homecoming weekend. Grey road closings worry residents Grey Twp. council held its regular meeting on Oct. 20 and received a delegation that presented a number or concerns with council's plans to close additional roads during the winter, specifically Sideroad 10-11, Cone. 1. The delegation indicated that a number of buses used this road and if the road was closed, buses would have to tum around on Hwy. 86. Concerns were also raised that this road was used by a number of individuals to get to other farms or businesses. They suggested that as an alternative that Sideroad 20-21, Cone. 1-4 could be closed and council instructed the road superintendent to check into the effects it would have on bus routes. In response to a petition and a delegation received at an earlier meeting which presented concerns about the Nutrient Management Plan process, council forwarded a letter to the delegation which outlined the requirements and benefits of the NMP and outlined the improvements of the process in evaluating intensive livestock operations on liquid manure systems. Council also indicated that their concerns would be forwarded to the committee which had originally proposed the NMP requirements for their review. It was decided that a candidates' night for the upcoming election would be held at the Cranbrook Community Centre on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 7:30 p.m. The next regular meeting of council is scheduled for Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. THE CITIZEN, WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 19,1997.
