They landed in Nadi Fiji and travelled by air, bus, boat and train down through Aukland, Wellington Christ Church, Dunedin and Queenstown in New Zealand and Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and Caims in Australia. While in Rotorua they had a great visit from their grandson, Mark Bosman whom with two other Goderich boys, is working in Taupo. Bill and Muriel Coultes attended the commencement exercises for Certified General Accountants on Saturday, Nov. 15 at the London Convention Centre where their son- in-law, Brian Wightman of Auburn received his CGA. Also attending were his wife and daughter, Alison and Autumn and Residents play games Euchre winners at the Women’s Institute Hall for Nov. 12 were: high lady, Mary Henderson; second high lady, Mary Taylor; lone hands, Norma Moore; low lady, Viola Adams; high man, Clifford Coultes; second high man, Lloyd Appleby; lone hands, Ross Taylor; low man, Catherine Wilson. There will be euchre again on Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 8 p.m. Everyone is welcome. The senior's bowling scores for Wednesday, Nov. 12 were: Marj Coultes, 56, 89; Alice Nicholson, 155, 100; Helen Underwood, 113, 100; Ivy Cloakey, 132, 88; Doris Remington, 154, 153; Judy Gaunt, 133, 112; Anne Hawkins, 125, 133; Eleanor Neill, 97, 185; Doris UCW remembers Nov. 11 The November meeting of the Afternoon Unit of the UCW met at the home of Mary Taylor, Tuesday, Nov. 11. Kay Roberts opened the meeting with the poem In Flander’s Field. The minutes of the October meeting were read and approved. Mrs. Roberts invited the unit to her home for the Christmas meeting to be held Dec. 11 with Edith Vincent, Janisa Coultes and Jean Pattison in charge. Mrs. Roberts conducted Bible Study continuing on with Matthew, chapter 13. Mrs. Coultes was in charge of mission study and using the Mandate gave a very interesting study touching on food banks children's Sunday. She closed with a tragic story of child labour in India. Mary Hunter led the worship service keeping with the Remembrance Day theme. She read an article entitled, "They also Served", a story about women who served in the Armed Services and What is the primary cause of vision loss? * Aging. Norman and Florence Wightman, all of Auburn. Brian was among over 700 graduates, the largest graduating class in the history of the CGA Association of Ontario. He is currently the manager of the Deloitte and Touche Chartered Accountants office in Seaforth. Congratulations Brian. Marc Alexander of Woodstock spent last weekend at the home of Jeremy, Justin, John and Linda Campbell. Stanley Black is a patient at Wingham and District Hospital. The community wishes Stanley a speedy recovery. Harvey Black has returned home from University Hospital in London where he was a patient. Friends and neighbours wish Harvey a speedy recovery. Bob and Jane Grasby spent last weekend at Ilderton with George and Mary Johnston. There were eight tables of shoot in play at the Belgrave Community Centre on Friday, Nov. 14. Winners were: high lady, Mary Taylor; second high lady, Lois Chamney; most shoots, Jean Cook; low lady, Norma Moore; high man, Stuart Chamney; second high man, Lome Campbell; most shoots, Harvey Edgar; low man, Richard Moore. There will be shoot again on Friday, Nov. 28 at 1:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome. also many other ways during World War II. Prayer closed with the worship. Mrs. Roberts closed the meeting with a benediction and a time of fellowship followed. Moms meet Mabel's Moms met at their regular time on Wednesday, Nov. 12. Those who attended were: Rev. Mary Jane Hobden and Stephen; Kim Higgins, Laura, Ashley and Jarrod; Elaine Scott, Payton and Drew; Lila Procter and Jessica; Connie Shiell, Christopher, Andrew and Lindsay. Their topic was "Discipline". I would like to thank the ratepayers of West Wawanosh for their support over the years and best wishes to the new council. Bob Hallam Prices in effect until closing Sunday, November 23 SCRIMGEOUR'S Food Market Blyth 523-4551 Knox parish hosts concert On Sunday, Nov. 16 the McArter family greeted worshippers and handed out the Service of Worship at Knox United Church. Rev. Mary Jane Hobden welcomed everyone to Restorative Justice Sunday. The congregation sang Will Your Anchor Hold? and Amazing Grace. Silent meditation, call to worship read responsively, Prayer of Approach repeated in unison, the hymn of praise God Reveals His Presence and the Prayer of Confession said in unison were followed by the reading from the Old Testament Samuel 1: 4-20 and the singing of We Are the Church. The children gathered in the front pews for story time. The Old Testament reading was taken from Samuel 2: 1-10 and the gospel lesson was taken from Mark 13: 1- 8. The congregation sang A Charge to Keep accompanied by Elizabeth Procter at the organ. The sermon was based on "It's Time to Wake Up". Ken Procter and Don Procter took up the collection. The closing hymn was I Am Thine O Lord. Kendra Folkard and Alice Yuill were in charge of the nursery. Nov. 23 is Sacrament of Baptism at Knox United Church. Knox UCW general meeting is at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 27 Members are asked to bring a stocking stuffer for the Christmas Bureau. Most needed are toothpaste, shampoo, etc. socks and underwear for children two to seven years. On Friday, Nov. 28 "Songs of our Faith” featuring John McIntosh, Chris McIntosh, Janet Koehler, "Silence" (The Hussey Family), Lila, Andrew and Ben Procter, "The Men of Note" (A quartet from Dundalk) and others from the church and area, is at 7:30 p.m. in Knox United Church, Belgrave. Tickets are available from any session member or at the church office (357-4561). Tickets will also be available at the door. All proceeds go to the church.
