"As soon as I saw the view of the bay, I realized that this house had great potential for a B&B." An extensive small business program offered by Georgian College assisted Peer in honing her business plan. Her involvement with her B&B and a contract position, as manager, S. Workshop topics will include: Pleasures and Pitfalls of Running a B&B; Assessing Your Facility; B&B Nuts 'n' Bolts; Expectations - Your customer's and your own; Getting Connected: The B&B Circuit and Beyond; The BIG Step: Getting Started on An Action Plan. An additional presentation will be made by the Huron Tourism Association. This fall workshop will be Phase 1 of a two-phase program on B&B set-up. Attendees from the first session who decide to seriously pursue B&B as a business option will be invited to attend Phase 2 in February to develop a framework for a comprehensive business plan. Hensall Economic Development Committee has purposely kept the registration fee affordable at $30 in order to encourage anyone who has an interest to attend. "With summer visitors to our area back tracking two hours to find accommodation, our committee felt these B&B seminars would help boost interest to keep some of those tourist dollars in Huron County," said committee member Mary Lynn MacDonald. Classes are limited to 20 participants, so register early. For more information or to register contact clerk-treasurer Luanne Phair, Village of Hensall, at 519- 262-2812.
