PAGE 27. 0 bituaries \ \ Officer promises grassroots service MAY MACDONALD Sarah May MacDonald, formerly of Blyth, passed away peacefully at Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 1997. Bom in Hullett Twp. in 1908, the daughter of the late David and Samina Watson, she was the beloved wife of the late Russell MacDonald (1979). Mrs. MacDonald was the dear mother of Carman MacDonald and Betty and Reg Hesselwood and dear mother- in-law of Enid and Joann MacDonald. She was the loving grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Kenneth MacDonald (1975), two infant children, a granddaughter Judy MacDonald (1981), a great- grandson Kent Snell (1970). She was also predeceased by a sister Amanda Wilson, and two brothers John and Earl Watson and an infant brother. She farmed with her husband in Hullett Twp. prior to retiring to Blyth in 1973. She was a member of the Blyth United Church. The funeral service was held on Thursday, Oct. 30 at 2 p.m. from the Beattie-Falconer Funeral Home - "Tasker Chapel", with Rev. Stephen Huntley officiating. Pallbearers were grandsons, Brian, Barry and Scott MacDonald, Brad Hesselwood, Brian Murray and Todd MacDonald. Flower bearers were great-grand­ daughters Nikki and Karly Howard. Interment was in the Blyth Union Cemetery. Donations to the Blyth United Church Mobility Access Fund are gratefully acknowledged. JOSEPH WILLIAM HOGGART Mr. Joseph William Hoggart of 99 Henry St., Mitchell passed away 1 —j at the Mitchell Nursing Home on his 95th birthday on Sunday, Oct. 26, 1997. Born at Blyth on October 26, 1902, he was a son of the late Andrew Hoggart and the former Louise Addison. On Dec. 26, 1964 he was married to Helen (Graviston) Dyck. Following their marriage, the couple farmed near Blyth until their retirement to Mitchell in 1967. He was a member of the St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Tavistock. Surviving besides his wife is a step-daughter Beryl Roy and her husband Jim of Burlington, a step­ son Paul Dyck and his wife Florence of RR 2, Seaforth, six grandchildren Amy, Matthew and Emily Roy, Caroline, Andrew and Christopher Dyck and a sister Bertha Love of Walton. Also surviving is a brother-in- law and sisters-in-law Wally and Cavelie Graviston of Mitchell and Doris Brown of Windsor, two nephews George Love and his wife Gloria of Walton and Tom Love of Burlington and one niece Faye McDonald and her husband Graeme of Cranbrook. He was predeceased by a brother- in-law George Love. Friends were received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal St., Mitchell on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral and committal services were held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Rev.
